Yesterday we woke up to a pretty blanket of snow. I went for a walk with my sister and saw this guy skating on a pond.

Comments (9)I was surprised earlier in the week to see that Bewick's Wrens had nested in our birch birdhouse. They were very secretive, and I only chanced upon the two parents and the begging young once, and have yet to see or hear them there again even though the house is in plain view. They must have begun nesting around the end of last year--which is surprisingly early. Comments (17)LOL, thanks, Nicole. Yes, she is an amazing artist. You should see her stuff now! She did a painting of an eagle that you would swear you could reach out and touch it live!! Her attention to details is wonderful. She did my painting from a photo that I emailed to her. And that was her first attempt at oil painting. Prior she had done almost exclusive drawing, sometimes using colored pencils. She is an engineer by trade. Moni, I love your picture. Can you imagine the talent it takes to do something like that? 10 years agoWe were out for a little bit and Smudge got extra-lonely I guess. He gifted us with 2 pillows, instead of his normal one, when we got home.
