HC-173 Edgecomb Gray -- Couldn't even find this on the Main Color Chart (to see where it was nested) but it does come up when you search for it singularly. This is definitely more "beige" than gray -- brown base it seems. I rarely advise on a specific color but I'm studying grays for a project right now. Ideally, if you can locate that color on the Master Color Chart or even back at the store on Paint Chips -- move more toward the TRUE Grays and not near neutrals or brown bases. Alternatively I like you're new choices of white or blue-gray too. I always keep in mind the basic trend of going with "warm colors" or "cool colors". Gray, Blues, Greens are definitely cool and breezy and in-line with your vibe. Maybe don't give up on the gray -- the perfect one may be out there -- lots to choose from.

The BM Baby Turtle is very nice. I have seen some other pictures of it posted in the gallery section as well. What do you recommend...BM, SW, or Behr paint? We've always had good luck with Behr, but I like the color selection of the others. I appreciate all the help and input! Thanks!

What a coincidence! I live in Louisiana near the Gulf. My room faces east, so after noon, there is hardly any light. That's one thing I hate about this house. The living room should have tons of windows that look out on the backyard. There is nothing to look at out of these windows except the house next door! The master bedroom is similar with the tray ceiling and the only overhead light from a ceiling fan, but the walls are a pale sage green with some gray undertones. I don't get that same "hot" feeling in here, even though the room is much more cluttered with furniture. It always feels "crisp and cool" in here. I wish I could explain what I'm trying to say better! I think I'll start looking at grays. I'm just worried about my drapes and other stuff. I usually naturally gravitate to golds, greens, crimson, and oranges. Will this work with grayish-blue?

Beverly, wow thank you for those beautiful renderings. So helpful and definitely food for thought! :) I have decided I will probably be refinishing the floors in a few years to a mid tone (less orangey) brown, because that is what I'm bumping on. The texture in the ceiling is from the weight of these massive beams in the attic. The window is probably a newer addition as the home has changed a few hands since it was built in 1921. I actually don't mind the stone on the fireplace. Maybe I'm crazy but I like it! Thank you again for all your thoughts! Holly, our furniture all rather neutral (think medium to dark woods, mid tone grays). Most added colors or accents are in the blue and gold and silver families). I will have oil rubbed bronze leaning towards black knobs and pulls throughout the house. Liz, I will definitely get a sample of soft focus.
