I need help with some ideas for my new living room...
Comments (10)Maybe you aren't as creative as you would like to be, but you probably know what you like and what you don't like. So that's why you should get a bunch of magazines and on-line pictures to start seeing what speaks to you and what doesn't. We now know that you don't want orange. What other colors don't you want/what colors do you love? Do you have a Calico Corners or JoAnn's nearby? Try browsing the fabrics and figure out what and colors and patterns you like: stripes/plaids/polkadots/floral? This is where you can start, and then we can work from there....See MoreWhat color should I paint my laundry room??
Comments (14)My studio is almost finished with Ben Moore's Crystalline, AF-485, on the walls and Putnam Ivory on the trim. My cabinets will be Navajo white, but right now they just have a white primer on them. The white looks nice with the Crystalline too. I tried to take a picture for you but the Crystalline is not showing up correctly in my photos. It changes with the light, sometimes more green, sometimes more blue. It's a very pretty, soothing color. You'd need to see a larger sample of it to get the true impression. It appears darker on the sample chip....See MoreI would like some Curb appeal ideas
Comments (9)Oh my god what a ! I think the plants just need time to mature -- I think bigger, established plants will feel better. I also love the idea of adding an undulating flower bed along the (lawn side) walkway, as well as making the bed underneath the window deeper. Those will go a long way to adding the "WOW" you want. I happen to be a fan of beds all around (inc. facing the sidewalk), but that's not for everyone. I find an abundance of plants really welcoming and friendly-looking. I don't know where you are, but a small tree (red leaf Japanese maple is what first pops to mind, but I happen to have a thing for them) could also do a lot. I'm not thinking of a large tree because it appears you have large trees on the hell strip. I think the small tree could go near the left corner of the house (to hide the junction boxes), and / or where that big rock is on the lawn. (well, maybe a bit to the left of it, closer to the corner of your property line) I like the dark brown trim paint color, but maybe when it's time to repaint you might consider a dark sage green or a mid-forest green. Your house is wonderful -- congratulations!...See MoreI’d like to add shelves in my laundry room but not sure how to proceed
Comments (15)Aesthetically the shelving can be as deep as the cabinet for a flush run, or shallower/less deed for an offset look. Matter of visual taste, not right/wrong, and matter of functionality. Do you use HUGE containers of laundry detergent and softeners? A gallon bleach or vinegar doesn't take up much room at all. Before you decide on depth and height of shelves make sure you stand in front of your washer/dryer and try to touch the wall behind the machines. Your reach will hep you decide....See MoreDenita
