Dogs, What would you do? (Off Topic)
Comments (20)Without a doubt I would dognap the poor lab when they're gone, then take it to a shelter at least 50 miles away. Do it for the dog. Throw your shoes away after the act, so they can't trace your footprints. Or better yet, wear really big shoes so they look for some 7' tall dognapper. This is no joke. Our neighbor has two very large dogs, which bark the second she lets them out every morning at 6:00am (even on Saturdays and Sundays). Waking up at 5am all week, it would be nice to sleep in a little on the weekend, but this person has denied us that liberty. She was gone Saturday through Sunday, and left them out. They barked all night long. We barely slept. It's amazing; I can barely hear airplanes flying over my house on their base leg to the airport a mile away, but the deep, hollow WOOOOF! of a great dane booms right through my R-19 insualted walls. I can't imagine dealing with that every night. I'd have to take some vigilante action if it ever came to that. We've called animal control several times, they can't do much beyond providing education of the local regulations. So what do you do about cats? The same dog propblem neighbor replaced her husband with a dozen cats when he left her. They've torn up my other neighbor's deck carpet, pissed all over our patio furniture, and all around the permiter of my house. They crap in the landscaping, my dog is attracted to it like a cheeseburger, eats it, then comes in the house and licks the kids. I confine my pet to my property; I don't think I should have to put up with cat crap in my flowerbeds, or cat piss splattered on my siding. My good neighbor has been trapping them, got two so far, but the worst offenders are too smart for fall for some sardines in a cage. Believe me, the thought of shooting them has crossed my mind, but I'm not in the mood to get convicted of felony animal cruelty when one of the neighborhood kids sees me take one out. This is public enemy #1, and it runs when I open the door. She's supposed to be on the other side of the fence. After a nice dump in the mulch, time to go piss on my chairs. This (below) is what you see when you walk up to my front door. It's not from my dog. It's from my neighbor's cat. What would you do?...See MoreOff topic: What our weather is like here now
Comments (17)Here in St Pete, Fla we have been cool, in the mid-40s at night and 60s days and sunny, but so far no freeze where I live... but just 50 miles north they were down to 18 overnight, and east of Tampa they are worried abt. the strawberries, they run the sprinklers all night if frost is forecast, stay up all night watching the thermometer....... they have the Strawberry Festival coming up in March and have to have tons of berries ! The main plants I worry abt. are my Orchids, I take them down out of the Guava tree and pile them in a wagon and cover them at night...... looks like we're going to have another cold winter here, like last winter, in Jan. we had several weeks of freezing temps at night and everything tender has to be covered with old sheets and blankets at night. sally...See MoreOff Topic: Who Has A Laptop They Absolutely Love?
Comments (48)Those of you wanting a laptop, definitely read the post Have you switched from a PC to a laptop? lots of good points in it, not only Windows computers but Mac's as well. My pain management doc has a Sony Vaio that he loves as well as 2 Mac laptops; he's mentioned one other but can't justify buying another. Wish I could remember what brand it was. Before buying be sure to research. As johnmari says about her Dell experience, unfortunately, that's what most people say. They also string you along until your 30 days are up to return it, then end up sending you a similar system, usually minus premium software you've paid for; and it's a refurbished machine. I have Windows and a Mac.. While I've been using the Mac mini, Windows is just so much easier and once I get the Windows machine finished (still not done building/adding parts) I will switch to that full time. Not sure if I posted in the other thread about our Compaq laptop, I bought it for my son when he graduated in 2003, that thing was a floor model and is still running. We blew a drive out in an airport (got hit against something) but installing the new drive was painless. I would buy one again, depending on how much they are compared to a Sony. I love the look of the Sony screens; we own 3 monitors with the XBrite technology.....See MoreWay off topic but what's your favorite eye cream?
Comments (69)Pat. I mostly use Kirks on the boys hair also. One thing I truely HATE is when kids have a stinky head...iI've found that even shampooing 3 times with shampoo kids can still have a stink head. My boys have oily heads so that could be why. Anyway Kirks on their heads and their heads smell so very clean and fresh. I do use a chamomile tea rinse.. I used to use lemon juice, they are both blondies, but I tried the Chamomile and wow it left their hair silky with a natural shine. so every night I brew 2 cups of Chamomile LOL glad I found a cheap brand that's 97cents for 25. I think though I'll try one tea bag and just let it steep an hour or so than dilute it some and split it in half for each boy. For those of you that don't know Kirks is a lovely coconut castile bar soap that can be used as a shampoo you just have to use a acidic rinse afterwards to restore PH. Kirks has a shampoo but I've never seen it at a store, ive been really really wanting to try it. So if any of you have please report to me if you like it. Thank You....See MorePeter Newcastle Aust spider mite breeder
