Your space is already almost 80% covered with furniture put some small area rugs on either side of the bed with the beds feet on them it will lok like a big rug.

Definitely not sisal. It's uncomfortable underfoot and the tone is unlikely to harmonize with your wall color. Here are some things to make your room feel more spacious and inviting:

--Get a rug that covers two-thirds under the bed and a couple feet around so you can step onto carpeting when you get out of bed. Here's an example of how it's done:

Plain white or a possible subtle tan pattern that harmonizes with the wall and potential rug.

Which side is 17’

Could you take a closeup of your duvet? Is it blue and white or gray and white? I'm not sure it's the right choice for your bedroom in either case since it doesn't seem to harmonize with your wall color.

Did nobody suggest a bamboo rug yet? They protect your floors, but have a solid, not fuzzy, surface & are (almost) as easy to clean as a bare floor. I had some in my living room and used my steam mop to clean them. They come in all kinds of colors & patterns as well.

Yes, in my county all apartments require it because of sound proofing. However, it's only really enforced when tenants below complain.

Sorry, when I suggested moving the dresser to replace the hampers, I was thinking of the small chest by the bed, which might just fit in that space. The big dresser in that corner makes that end very crowded. I'm not sure whether these two alternatives would work:

-- Move chest to the right of the window.

--Move the dresser to the left side of the bed where the chest is now.

Or:

--Move the bed much closer to the closets

--Leave the small chest to the left side of the bed.

--Move the dresser next to the right side of the bed near the window. The added benefit would be the mirror reflecting light from the window during the daytime, that is if it fits.

If this works, you'd have a clear visual path all the way to the window wall, which would make the room seem less crowded.

Apologies to your neighbors for suggesting that you move large pieces around!

Ah, sorry. I didn't realize you have two chests in addition to the big dresser. They're pretty wide for the size of your bedroom. At some point, you may want to swap them out for small night tables if you want an airier feeling. Anyway, I can't comment further since I didn't realize you had so much furniture in there.

Thanks for the advice. I love the idea of putting the curtain panel to soften the room and to make it feel more centered! I may be able to put the dresser under the TV but as you said that would leave about 2 feet of walking space between the two. You don't think that'll look too tight? Also, the mirror on the dresser can be taken off, but I don't know where to hang it if I were to put the curtain along the window wall.
