awkward shaped living area

User
We are closing on our first home this week, which needs extensive cosmetic work. I am mostly struggling with how to utilize the space in the odd shaped living room. The house is a 1970's Garrison Colonial that was originally 2 rooms; the owners knocked the wall down, which is load bearing, hence the awkward beams. To have the ceiling double enforced and the beams removed would cost way more than we can afford right now, so working in the confines of the beams is a necessity. We will be painting the room a griege tone and installing hardwood floors.

The only place I can see to put the Tv would be over the fireplace, leaving the other half of the room completely pointless. We do have a space for a separate formal dining room already, so do not need that. Any help appreciated!
