Eating gingerbread house, am I being paranoid?
Comments (19)If eating a little dust was bad for us, we'd all be dead by now. I'd let them eat it, and what they will find is it will be hard and stale and no fun. I'd be most worried about letting them eat something that is almost pure sugar. But I know it will make them sad to throw it out, so maybe do offer making some decorated gingerbread cookies as a fun alternative. I wonder if there are some other creative ways of "re-cycling" gingergread houses out there, for those of us who don't have chickens, lol! Grind it all up and turn it into "fairy dust?"...See MoreDo you like gingerbread houses?
Comments (19)Annie - Your gingerbread house sounds terrific! I bet it was so much fun to make it and eat it too! I am sure your daughters remember all those good memories. And if you ever make them again, maybe for your babies's babies please share a picture... I like to make cookies with friends and then we put them in small bags to share with other friends.:) Teresa - What an interesting life you had! A lot like mine, traveling to different places and now I am here for good, I only take vacations now and for short time, don't like to leave my 3 dogs alone for too long.:) We have parties for friends to practice languages, I do all the cooking for a group under 20 but for a group bigger than that we do a potluck. I always tried to include activities for the parties, sometimes we invite a chef and if it is daytime we always include a tour of the garden, even non-gardeners like that because they get to see how some of the food is grown and I usually include the harvest in the dishes that I make. This year I grew an Italian winter squash that were so big that gave us a lot of meals to share with friends. One of the favorite dishes was the lasagna made with sausage and squash. WHY ARE ALL OF MY MARSHMALLOW PLANTS TURNING YELLOW?!
Comments (11)I sincerely apologize for the delayed response! I never got any notification of replies to my question so I assumed there were none. I came back on here today because I have a new problem with my marshmallow. I have got them hardened off and they are all outside near my patio. They are definitely growing better but in the last few days, have all gotten purple leaves (still only a very minor issues with the yellowing)! It is only effecting the oldest of the leaves so far but the stems have turned purple too so I'm worried that whatever this is will make it to the beautiful newer leaves as well. I haven't put them in the ground yet because I am terrified of pests destroying them. Something, I think we've come to the conclusion it's birds, has taken every one of the 30 clary sage seedlings and 2 of my comfrey seedlings that I transplanted out. But why on earth would the marshmallow leaves now be turning PURPLE?! Gardening is supposed to relaxing...See More- 8 years agolast modified: 8 years ago
