From the outside in....pair in the garage on my pegboard. Two pair in my office. Two pair in my laundry room drawers. Both utility and kitchen shears in the kitchen. About three pair in the armoire in one guest room that holds all my gift wrap things.

My don't-even-think-about-anyone-but-me-touching-these fabric shears and pinking shears with my sewing things.

Very sharp scissors for things like hair, mustache trimming and bandage cutting in all three bathrooms.

And now that I've thought a minute, there are as above - small scissors in the first aid kits in my SUV and the truck.

In the desk, sewing basket, needlework kit, and kitchen.

That was my response in another thread that disappeared and its true.. I keep most of my scissors hidden or they get misplaced by "someone". lol

Medicine cabinet, pencil cup in the kitchen, pencil cup in the living room, nightstand, kitchen utensil drawer, on the laundry shelf, in the garage, in my glove box.

Kitchen drawer, dresser drawer, bathroom cabinet, sewing room (2 pair of ginghers), and desk drawer. I don’t know how I keep getting all these but they arrive like some sort of scissor fairy drops by with a new pair every so often.

I have a pair in my bathroom, both MBath and whole bath on first floor, three pair in the kitchen - one on each wall of work counter, and sewing scissors in the basement where my sewing machine is. Cuticle scissors are next to my chair in the library if I need them, and a pair of Kindergarten scissors if I need to cut a know our my my dog's coat.

Two pairs in the kitchen junk drawer, one pair in hubby's office which are kept in a desk drawer, two pairs in my studio, both in a container that holds, pens, pencils, ruler, calculator, exacto knife and tweezers and a pair in my car. I think hubby has a pair in the garage.

Wow, most of you have so many pairs of scissors. I have one pair and keep it in a drawer in the kitchen.

I'm with Moonie - hidden. DH will find them and loose them. Over and over again.

I got tired of traipsing all over this large house to fetch scissors, so I now have a pair in every single room, including the front hall. Saves my sanity and energy.

Two cooking shears in the kitchen, regular scissors in the office, gardening secateurs in the garage, hair cutting scissors in the bathroom, some embroidery scissors in the sewing kit.

I discovered this year that cooking shears are great for cutting wire-edged ribbon. Since they can be sharpened, you don’t end up with a dead pair of scissors like you do when using regular scissors.

i'm with Brushworks... scissors everywhere! i have my GOOD scissors for sewing... with sewing machine. nothing but fabrics, yarn, threads ever cut with these. have kitchen shears that will cut about anything... even more delicate stuff. small pair of scissors... sorta for floral stuff... also in kitchen. then comes the $ store scissors. they are actually pretty good at cutting most things. have them in bathrooms, living-room, next to computer, in bedroom, in garage and in car.

I have scissors "everywhere" from fabric scissors to scissors for cutting paper, to manicure scissors.....in bathroom drawer, in a box in the bedroom night stand, lots in my crafting area, on the dining room table in a container, by the kitchen phone in a container, in two kitchen drawers, and in a container by my computer. I even have a pair in the glove box of my car.

Every drawer and container around the house in almost every room, and outside for gardening. I have lost them outside often, probably buried in the weeds or in yard waste. The kitchen scissors are very often used so that is where most of them are. I have them in various drawers as I find it convenient to use them right there where I need them. Despite organization trends, this is one item that should not be stored all in one place. Does anyone else sharpen by cutting through aluminum foil?

Wow, I feel under scissored. Lol. I have a pair in the kitchen drawer. And a smaller pair in the bathroom drawer to trim my bangs. That's it.

One in knife block, one in pen cup on island counter, one in bird room for opening their impossible bags of treats and food (why never any pull tabs?), several in my studio for fabric/paper/specialty etc, small ones in both bathrooms, probably some in the utility closet and office dresser— I really like having scissors around :) I also bought a scissor sharpener and it was a great purchase! Somehow I always end up cutting corrugated cardboard with my scissors and ruin them, but now I can sharpen them back up.

Brushworks, you have me lashed to the mast. :-))) However, I'm going to top you on one place. Next time I'm out, I'm stopping at the dollar store and picking up a pair for the car! I was out with Georgy the other day and had just bought her a bag of treats. When I return to the car after running a quick errand, I usually give her a treat and I struggled like crazy to get the bag open. I finally grabbed a pen and was able to poke a hole and tear it open but decided next time I'm out I'm buying a small pair at the dollar store to keep handy for such occasions. It's not the first time it's happened!

All sizes, and all over the place. Two pair in the kitchen drawer, one in the utility room, one in our bathroom, small pair in my desk drawer, small pair by my reading spot, two in my sewing drawer, one in my garden tote in the garage storage room, one with my garden stuff in the basement store room. And a pair of folding scissors I travel with.

I have scissors in all the above stated places. As well I have a pair on my keychain in my little multi purpose pocketknife. My keychain is attached to my phone. Maybe our phones should have scissors in them like a swiss army phone or something. :)

I’m keeping an eye out for the scissor fairy. I want new dressmaker shears with knife edge by gingher.

One pair in the knife block in the kitchen, one pair in the pencil holder also in the kitchen, one surgical pair in the main bathroom, at least two secatours in the garden shed, a pair in the garage, and a pair of secatours and a pair of scissors in the mailbox on the front porch...to be handy when I'm gardening in the front of the house and don't want to go to the garden shed in the back yard.

I have many pairs of scissors. A small pair in the bathroom for trimming hair, 2 in the kitchen drawer for cooking, one in my sewing kit.

There are many more that I never know where they are but I don't care. I finally bought myself a pair of left handed scissors that I keep in my desk drawer. No one steals them because they are uncomfortable for everyone else to use. :). If I have any real cutting I need to do, I use them.

I have scissors in the junk drawer in the kitchen, small ones in my bedroom, and hair cutting ones in the bathroom.

I have a pair in the kitchen in a jar on the windowsill over the sink, a pair in the self over the washing machine in the laundry, a pair in the pen holder cup on DH’s desk in the office, a pair in the bathroom, a pair in my knitting bag, a pair on the Swiss Army knife in my handbag and several pairs in my sewing/craft cupboard.

Wow, this has been educational, in a good way! I grew up with hyper-organized parents. Why would you need more than two scissors in a household: one for sewing, and one for paper? and why wouldn't you put it back where it belongs when you're done with it? Ha.

So I've always felt a bit guilty by having probably a dozen pairs around here. Now I feel better about it!

I will admit that I, too, have a scissors problem. Two in the kitchen drawer, a few in the bathroom, tiny ones on an end table in the living room, one in the garage, two or three in the shed with all the gardening stuff, one in the little toolbox kept inside. I'm probably forgetting some. :)

IMO, scissors belong where used. That's why we have plenty. The grandchildren slept over last night and we discovered 3 pair of kid scissors in the activity bins. That moves our count to 19.

I have at least 4 scissors in various kitchen drawers, one in the desk, several in the sewing box, and a couple in the bathroom vanity.

Either in my pen container in my craft room or on top of the microwave in the kitchen. If they're not in either spot, you can hear me freak out a little. lol

I hate searching for scissors! I have at least one pair in every room of the house!

We won't even talk about how many scissors there are in my quilt/embroidery studio--but they are MINE, and heaven help the person who uses my specialty scissors for cutting paper!

Texas Gem, I can cut equally well with either left or right hand, but learned with my left, so it is the most natural for me (due to childhood injuries to my right hand). I had a pair of left handed scissors but they disappeared and ended up at a friend of Jody's house. Jody was using them to cut webbing or something on a shrimp net and the guy was complaining that they were left handed scissors...and I said, "So that is where mine disappeared to!" That is why I have so many, and why if I get another pair of left handed ones, I will hide them. (Then I won't be able to find them either, but at least they will be here somewhere.)

Junk drawer in kitchen. Top drawer in desk. Gun room. And there are probably 15 up in the sewing room but they are off limits to use on anything except fabric.

I'm a relative "lightweight" when it comes to scissors! Two pairs on a magnetic hook on the side of the fridge, two or three (including good tailor shears) in my sewing table drawer, one in LR pencil holder, and various others throughout the house.

I haven't counted mine, but I have them wherever I'm apt to need or want to use them. Everywhere everyone else has already mentioned. Except tackle box, which I don't have. Nor do I have a pair in my car, but I think I will change that the next time I go to the dollar store! I think those in my kitchen actually get used the most. I also have numerous pairs of pliers. My hands (especially my fingers) just don't work like they used to, so I keep pliers handy for gripping all sorts of things, even the zipper tab on my jeans.

I have two pair in kitchen drawers. One is a 'rough' orange-handled pair for boxes, plastic containers, etc. I bought my favorite, red-handled pair at Sears 53 years ago; can be sharpened. I use an old pair of my mother's fabric scissors for paper; kept in my desk in the kitchen. There's an old, dull pair of nail scissors in my medicine cabinet for opening cosmetic packages and cutting bandages. There's a pair on a shelf in the garage. That's All Folks. (Not counting nail kits.)

DH and I bought a pair of scissors for the condo, then couldn't get them out of the hard plastic they were packaged in -- because that required *scissors*.

Like Andrea, I have scissors EVERYWHERE! in the table by the front door to aid in opening mail/packages, in a container next to my recliner for whatever, in the storage ottoman along with my latest knitting/crocheting projects, several in the knife drawer (one for meat, two for everything else), several in the bathroom (one for hair, two for first aid), one in my nightstand, countless number in my sewing room (many different types), one in the garage hanging from the shelf over the washer, two in my car and a fold-up in my purse. Scissors are not fluff to me, LOL!

Just don't run with them.

I actually got rid of some scissors! Tested the household ones and got rid of the ones that cut poorly plus the second pair of kitchen shears was rehomed. After treasuring all I finally have enough. Did not know that was possible.

There are scissors in the garage work bench, kitchen utensil drawer, lots in the buffet under TV, 2 in dog grooming basket [cheap for foot fuzz and expensive for tail trimming], in both bathrooms, 3 for sewing and another for general work in the sewing/office room. I don't think there are any in my bedroom.

I realize now that I forgot all of my crafting, sewing, first aid and hair scissors in my original post. Found several pairs of my kids school scissors in my desk drawer. I can't seem to let them go.

Lots of scissors!! It’s so frustrating when you can’t find any. When my 3 kids were in school they kept borrowing them and not putting them back. I finally made a vow, whenever I couldn’t find my scissors. I’d buy another pair as a spare. I also picked up a few pairs at estate sales. One day as I was moving things out to the garage fir an upcoming yard sale, I took a second look at a large Grumpy mug. It was the perfect size to hold my scissors! It now sits on my desk filled with scissors. My favorites are the 2 I bought at a yard sale from a retired teacher ( heavier with black painted handles). After reading these posts I realize I have others too- 2 kitchen shears, bang trimming scissors, cat nail trimming scissors, various scissors in my sewing box.

On one of our trips to Viet Nam, we were in a town that has many historical and cultural attractions, and the local tourism committee sells an inexpensive ticket booklet that gives you entry to them. At one we wished to visit, the lady at the door had to run next door to borrow back their shared pair of scissors in order to cut off the correct tickets. It made me think how lucky we are to be able to own several pairs of such a simple tool without giving it a thought, when others can only afford to share a pair between households.

Several in my sewing room and anyone caught using them but me will be executed! One in the knife block, same thing. Other than that I have one in the kitchen drawer for cutting paper, string, whatever and one outside for gardening.

I have a petite red Swiss Army knife that has a small scissors in it. I carry it in my cosmetic bag in my purse. I use it all the time for all sorts of things. Other scissors are in many rooms of the house for their particular use.

Two pairs of kitchen shears in the utensil drawer. Two pairs of zebra striped in the wooden spoon crock. A pair with the sewing machine. A pair in the wrapping paper closet. (this is a teeny tiny closet in the hallway that I lined with floor to ceiling shelves for gift boxes, bags, ribbon, tape, and two bins at the bottom for wrapping paper)

Well at least one of the scissors I tossed had a cracked handle! I don't recall where MIL's sewing scissors with a missing pivot bolt went. Hope it's gone. For how many years have I suffered with lousy sewing shears. $15 from Amazon!

My daughter had her very first pair of safety scissors last time she decluttered her room, suspect they are still there. If so definitely the oldest pair of scissors here. She always knows where scissors and tape and nail files are. Me, not so much.

Two in the kitchen (one large,one small); small pair in bedside table; utility shears in the garden shed and another pair in my toolbox. Oh and a small pair in the car. I think that is all.
