I only visit Home Dec Convo besides the KT. I used to visit Home Dec., but that forum is no longer enjoyable to me. Maybe I should check out some of the other forums.

The majority of other forums, part of the original THS and GW are not very active.

I like to peruse Buyin and Selling and even though I will never build, I like to see what others are doing on the Building Forum.

Sometimes I pop into Cooking, but to be honest, I personally don't like to cook.

Smaller Homes used to have a community of people but most have left and now it's no longer a personal forum.

Hot Topics!

From the garden side, I frequent several. Gardening in Texas, Gardening in Shade, Woodland Gardening, The Wildlife Garden, Ponds and Aquatic Plants and Name That Plant. I am kind of a GW/Houzz junkie.

I also like Garden Junk, The Computer Help Forum, Landscape Design and the Lawn Care Forum.

Home forums I check Pets from time to time. A lot in the Garden Forums. Trees, weeds, name that plant, perennials and so on. My favorite is Butterfly Garden. Sadly there is hardly anybody on there anymore.

Oh, I haven't been to Garden Junk in years. Will check it out now!

Along with the KT, I check out Cooking, Recipe Exchange, Plumbing , Computer Help once in a while, Hot Topics every so often and the Holiday forum used to be more active but not so much now. Plus others I pop in and out of ! :)

Love Garden junk but it's not very active. Kitchen, home decorating, and the conversation side. Name that plant occasionally. Never go to hot topics.

I sometimes read the Cooking forum. I used to post at a pond forum but haven't in a long time, and it changed it's name and I am not sure it is even active any more. I post at the Meeting House, but it is mostly just an Evening Post forum now. Not very active. I am not on line very much during the day. At night I watch youtube videos or listen to interviews on my phone while working, during the day. I usually check into Pinterest for a few minutes a day, and Facebook about twice a day, but only for a few minutes at a time.

I used to be more active on several other forums, but they became less and less active with knowledgeable people. I still lurk or visit those occasionally. And I still go to the Alabama Gardening forum, Bluebird, Pond, and a few others to check on what’s going on and see who is posting.

Other than TX forum, I never ever look at forums. The thread title is what catches my attention every time.

ETA: there are threads I quickly pass over, the ones where somebody wants decor advice and immediately the decor specialist answers w/ what suggestions from his store. Those MUST be fake, ugh!

Love your comment about Hot Topics. They scare me, too!! If you don’t agree with them they will eat you alive!!

I went to Hot Topics once, and got the heck out of there. Yikes!

I used to check out some of the others, but not much is happening. I do post on the Cooking Forum. At one time I contributed a lot to the houseplants and vermicomposting as well.

I used to read the pets forum, but we no longer have pets so I rarely visit there now. Other forums I look at are Organizing the Home, Hot Topics, various gardening forums, Trash to Treasure, Farm Life (used to be fun to read, but not very active these days) and sometimes the cooking forum. And, I have no idea why because I do not nor have I ever lived in an apartment, but I often find myself reading Apartment Living. The only forum I participate in by posting is the KT.

The Harvest forum is not really active but it has some really knowledgeable people, I learned how to can with their help.

When I had my house I loved the roses and antique roses forums. There are many interesting posts on a lot of the forums, even the less active ones.

Home Decorations Forum is one I read all the time, they are funny sometimes and good people.

Where is Hot Topics? I can't find it! Also, I like to look at Paint every once in awhile.

I started on Hosta and Garden Junk, back in the day as they say. Often check out Accouterments and Trash and Treasure, then Holidays. Hosta is still very alive and kicking but I am over that obsession so don't have reason to visit. Garden Junk DIED as did Holidays.

Ratherbesewing, it is just above House Plants on the garden side. It is good to have a place to discuss hot topics, but sadly some use it to instigate petty fights. There are others there however who are mature enough and bright enough to really make good points on many hot topic issues.

I tried the bathroom forum. I do ALL my own tiling. There are a lot of tiling errors posted over there. Problem is if a tile job looks bad, what's under it is 99% of the time BAD also. It's not fixable. The whole thing needs to be torn out. . No need for ME to get involved at ALL....as I see it.

I loved Garden Junk, and visited every day. It's not very active these days. The Hosta forum was a must also, and I go there occasionally now. And of course Computer Help was a necessity, with Raven saving my sanity many times.

I originally started out on GW years ago. Even after Houzz took over I started out in the gardening forums. Then I would go in the Quilting forum. So many nice people there. I peeked in on KT just out of curiosity and have hung out here and there ever since. I do look at the laundry forum sometimes and have peeked at the marriage forum (so many sad stories). I looked in at hot topics before and just now after you all mentioned it and yikes. Don't think I'll be going there. haha I do wish more of the crafting forums were more active.

I started out in the Garden Junk forum, then added Stained Glass & Mosaics. Next I discovered the Cooking forum, but was discouraged from posting there by a few who would get pretty snotty. It is still a pretty active group, and it looks like the worst offenders, as far as insults go, have cleaned up their act. The worst one was banned, but came back when Houzz took over. I guess being banned was a good thing, she seems much less likely to be insulting now. I do read over there just about every day, but very rarely ever post there. I also read a number of the gardening and craft forums. Was excited to find "Reader's Paradise", but soon found it is not for me, much as I love to read. So many of the forums are just so "dead"! No fun at al!

I've only fairly recently discovered this forum, and now I read here more than any of the others. Like Kathyg, sometimes I want something different, or feel bored, etc., and will check out some of the other forums. Mainly the Antiques forum, and the cleaning forum. Went through a period of frequenting the Caregivers and the Grief forums. I stuck my nose into Hot Topics a time or two, never again! They can be so AWFUL! It's downright discouraging to see names that you see on other forums, who you think of as nice, friendly posters, acting like spoiled 5 year olds, with the childish name calling and unwarranted insults. I really don't like arguments, at all, and see no reason to participate in them. It's taken me quite awhile to erase some of the impressions I got over there from my mind, so I could read some of their posts on this and other forums, with an open, unbiased mind. But I'm getting there. . . . .

I used to like Landscaping, but failed to pay attention to it over the winter, when the landscaping here in New England was Mother Nature White... (Smile). Now, it now longer works the way it used to, so I am out of there.

Rusty, I very much agree with you about the name calling and insults at HT. I think it keeps many people who might otherwise participate in what could be interesting back and forth discussions from joining in.

As for Hot Topics, I find the posters are not interested in having thoughtful discussions; they’re really just looking for a fight.
