Fish cookie jar
Comments (14)I am so happy to have found this!! I have this fish cookie jar and have been also looking for info on it and cannot find ANYTHING. Mine was a gift from my father and mother to her mother somewhere around 1965 or so. I know it could not have cost much new because they did not have a whole lot then being newly married. They lived in Northern Indiana for a time, but we live in the Owensboro KY area so like you said, it could have been purchased around Evansville too. They all passed many years ago and it sat on top of my aunt's refrigerator until I got married and then it was given to me. I have searched everywhere and found another green one that I had to have and then I found on separate occasions 2 PINK ones-so I wonder if there are other colors out there. I'll post pictures of the pink ones in the next few days so you can see them too. I know I'm rambling, but I'll still keep my eyes open and pass on any information I can find....See MoreCarousel Horse Cookie Jar
Comments (12)What a wonderful table! So cheerful and bright. Tho must admit, I am seriously envious of that carousel horse cookie jar!! I have a life-size C. horse in my livingroom, and a small collection of special figurines of them (all PJ's models of real carousel horses made long ago). I'm so glad I got to see the photos! That blasted 'new' Photobucket just really stinks. I totally HATE what they've done to the site!!!!!! And I've read Pinterest is going to get 'improved'. Its fine now, I love it. I can't see why these people have to change things, and especially if no one wants it. Off my soapbox. hugs, Karen...See MoreRECIPE: In a Jar Cookies-# 1--( long)

Comments (21)Lindalou, I'm not lindyluwho, but no, Molly McButter is not what she means by butter flavoring. You can find butter flavoring in the baking isle with the vanilla. It comes in a bottle in a box, just like the vanilla does. Just like vanilla, almond, black walnut, ect., like an extract, but it's just a flavoring, to make the cookies or what ever you use it in, have more of a butter flavor. I said last night I would repost the other recipes I posted that have scrambled ingredient amounts so here you go: Mrs. Hartly's Sugar Cookies 1 c. sugar 1/2 c. shortening 2 eggs 2 T milk 2 c flour 1/2 t. lemon rind (I use dried lemon peel found in the spice isle) 1/2 t. soda 1 t. baking powder 1 t. nutmeg Little salt Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased sheet. Bake at 350 until slightly golden brown. My Mother's Sugar Cut Out Cookies Combine: 3/4 c. soft shortening - part butter 1 c. sugar 2 eggs 1/2 t. vanilla Sift together: 2 1/2 c. flour 1 t. baking powder 1 small t salt Mix all together and chill at least 1 hour, or over night. Roll out 1/8" thick. Cut out with floured cutter. Place on ungreased sheet. 375 for 6-8 minutes. Not many in a single batch. The reason we get the odd symbols, to my understanding, is the format of the forum doesn't understand the symbols when you copy and paste from Word. Tami...See MorePatricia Colwell Consulting
