Mitchdezj, thank you. I thought maybe you didn't want me to post here any more, so I'm glad to learn that's not the case. Those shades really are works of art, but I know they're not to everybody's taste. Shees, you can get crystals on eBay. Perhaps in lamp shops too? The lampshade you have is cute, but it isn't quite right -- a bit small/short for your lamp. Did you look at the lampshades on eBay? If you know how to hem a skirt (by hand) then you can sew a lampshade. It's the same kind of stitch. Basically, you wrap the wire frame in a special cloth tape. Then you stretch one panel of lining very tightly across it, pinning it to the tape (generally they're done one panel at a time). Pin points face inward, toward the center of the panel. Then you hand sew it on with stitches about 1/4" long, knotting every 4 stitches or so, and pulling the fabric tightly as you go. Then trim the lining fabric as close to your stitching as you can get, without cutting your stitching. Continue doing that until all panels are covered. The tricky part is not getting stabbed too much on all those pins. Try not to bleed on your shade. lol! I think rubbing alcohol will remove it if you do. First round is your lining fabric, usually white silk. Second round is your decorative fabric(s), quite often also silk, or velvet. (In picking your fabric, hold it up and see how it looks with light shining through it.) Sometimes you want to add a third layer of lace, or pleated nylon, or appliques, or whatever. Then you hot glue on the fringe, then the braid. The job takes a little time and patience. It's a good "in front of the TV" project. Of course, you can make either a modern shade or an antique one the same way. The quicky way is stretch it tight and glue it, one panel at a time.

Thanks for the help everyone. I bought these last fall at a very local, in town estate auction. They've been sitting on my storage shelves and I keep looking at them. I think I've gotten used to them being shadeless if that makes sense. Busybee, I'll investigate a taller harp or stretcher. Dlm, This camera is a bear to get good shots with. It's my youngest DD's and it's just a little coolpixs she likes to carry with her. It's light, easy to carry and she takes pictures and film of everything. She actually gets decent shots out of it. We kayak in the spring and my good camera bit the dust on a trip sadly, I need to replace it. Dee, I think I did put a picture of them up after I bought them asking for advice. I actually like the more casual shade, but I think because the lamp is more formal, most people would care for a more formal sahde. Cyn, if you get a chance .. would you take a picture of your lamp(s) with the black shades on them. I thought about black, but didn't know if it would be too dark for this room. @Jenna Gaggero I've built and refurbished many lamps so I've experienced this conundrum before. I have a three part answer. It's long, bear with me! I agree with Beverly, it looks like a globe shade is the proper style. You can't just buy any globe shade and expect it to work. There are so many types of attachments, it's not that simple. The main question is, how do you attach it to the base? Take the lamp into a lighting store and see if a sales rep can help you figure out shade style and exact fit. If they can't order anything for you, then you might need to take the information and shop online. Or if you know of a place in your town that builds custom lighting, take it to them for help. FIRST SUGGESTION: From the photo you posted, it looks like maybe you need something with threads inside the opening, so you simply twist it on, like this: I've shopped for small shades like this before, and had a hard time finding a US supplier. I did find this one on Amazon that might work, but check the ring size first. Or if it's not right, maybe you could contact that seller and see if they have anything else. If you're at a loss, I do find shades like this at Ali Express. They have a ton of variety, but the shipping will be super slow and you can't return it if it doesn't fit. I despise Ali Express, but sometimes I just can't find the proper part anywhere else! (Or Ebay, but it's pretty likely the seller will be shipping from China, so it's practically the same thing.) SECOND SUGGESTION: did the broken glass shades have removable brass rings, like this? then all you need to do is find the right size globe and attach those rings to them. Video here. THIRD SUGGESTION: Look for small globe shades that have openings at both ends. You reach in through the bottom and attach them with a large ring that twists around the outside of the socket (video here). So in this case, you can find a shade that fits close enough, but it's the ring that needs to be a perfect fit. This might be easier to find than my first suggestion of a closed globe. (Here are some rings in different sizes.) The shade will look a little like this, with a small opening at the top and larger one at the bottom: NOT like this one! this has a little neck that will prevent your globe from sitting flush against the curved part:
