Kids bath needs new floor and I can't find plain white tile
Comments (3)Both Lowe's and Home Depot should have white tile in stock. Daltile is an easy, inexpensive source (and will let you order a sample online, they have a couple of whites). Mixing sizes (maybe a border of mosaic size tiles) will add interest without adding much cost. You could also clip the occasional corner and add a few decorative tiles - with 65 sq feet, you would only need a handful. Its amazing what just s few interesting tiles can do!...See MoreCan't seem to get the coffee table right!
Comments (24)Farm chic, I like the overall shape of that table, but white would not work in this room. There is literally nothing white in this room, not even the ceiling! Kkay, you know, I saw a trunk/chest in a store last weekend and I was really drawn to it but it was just a little too small. If I could find the one I saw in a bigger size, I think it might be a candidate. Funky -- I think you and I could be friends for life. I have looked (online) at that RH table a few times!! It is so cool looking. I wondered how the metal would hold up, ie would it scratch easily. I should go look at it in the store. We had a round table in this room way back when... That's still a possibility although right now I'm thinking a long table so everyone can put their feet up, and probably putting the round red ottoman elsewhere. I'm not sure about the aesthetics of a round table, plus a round ottoman, plus the square ottoman that goes with the leather chair... Finally, abundant blessings, I knew someone would mention the position of that chair. I know it's not great, but the reality of this room is that we sit on that chair and that end of the sofa to watch TV. Also, if I pull the chair out and angle it more, it gets too tight with the end table and that end of the sofa (I've done it) and ends up looking more awkward. Eventually I'm going to slide the sofa down the wall a few inches in the other direction, but that entails moving the artwork, etc...so I've been procrastinating. That might help but probably not that much. Same problem with the red ottoman -- that's for the feet of whoever is sitting at that end of the sofa (don't get me started -- DH and DS seem physically unable to sit there without putting their feet up on something). But if I had a longer table, the ottoman would go elsewhere....See MoreWhy can't my home get a showing?
Comments (67)Well, just wanted to put in this one last post on this. I did end up getting an offer on my home from the client that did see it, it was a great offer for full asking price, so I have accepted it. So, all in all, the realtor did end up getting me a good deal and I am happy to have a contract on my home now. Buyer is preapproved with 20% down, so it seems like a sound contract, I close August 28th. I still agree with you guys that the photos were bad, but its not much of an issue now :)...See MoreI love my house that I can't see
Comments (16)Thanks everyone. I do think a waterproof light over the tub will be our final lighting addition for now (and maybe a lit, on-the-counter make up mirror for the teenager because above-the-mirror downlights are not fun for looking at yourself), but first I have to convince my (electrical engineer) husband that it's a good idea. There is no light in the fan above the toilet, but I think that area now gets enough light that I'm not worried about it. I may try painting the mirror frames for now to save some money. While I would love some backlit ones, I would rather save the money for the master bath (it's crazy) and the kitchen. As far as painting, is there already too much white? Beige mirror frames to tie in the tile? Something more fun (I'm a huge fan of eclectic)? Or maybe the wall behind the mirrors could get an accent color and the mirror frames could be white? The wall behind the mirrors is already, oddly, a different texture from the rest of the room. Thoughts?...See MoreUser
