Turning 1 full bath into 2 small baths-please help!
Comments (17)The fixtures are Moen Kingsley, chrome finish. (purchased by plumber ) The shower in master is one of their complete 3/4" spa sets, + we bought a separate Moen showerhead...the one that you can switch from rain back to normal....highly recommend this option. Chrome is a rare phenomenon....my wife and I both love it, and it's the least expensive finish option! The kid's vanity is 28", and ours is 42 or 44"...both ordered from Home Decorators, complete w/ granite tops/sinks. ...The vanities is where we saved a bit. We're very happy w/ both vanities. One caveat, the drawers are pretty much wood boxes that sit inside cubby holes..no slides/dovetails/etc....We don't expect them to last a lifetime, but again, I'm happy with what we got vs. what we paid, and the wood finish looks great on both. . ONe caution...plumber hated hooking up the waste to the 28"...that is a very narrow cabinet! flying diver, thanks on the floor comment...it's carrara, so expensive per sqft, but not too much in our small bath! We both love the feel and look of it...See Morere-thinking granite choice, all opinions please
Comments (45)forget soapstone and marble unless you can live with slight marring or do the work to correct stains and scratches. granite is much easier... you seal it maybe once a year - wipe on/wipe off - simple. My cabinets are white and so are my appliances. My floor will be porcelain pietra romano which is a sandy taupe with darker veins running thru it to tie into a darker granite. Sink will be stainless. Won't decide on hardware until last moment: either brushed nickel or black iron or ORB.... ha. babbie, both stones will look pretty cuz they're granite and you'll love them but the darker will give your kitchen more WOW/POP factor and the neutral one will blend. I'd go for the wow. again, personal taste. I'm sure you'll be happy with either stone....See MoreNeed help with tile choices please (Master bath)
Comments (15)Hahaha tibbrix, I had to google "flash in the pan" and yes I agree the green tile could very well be a fad and in 5-10 years it may scream old or dated BUT I do like it ... I tried picking a glass tile that wasn't too bright or bold/mix in colors hoping it would be more subtle and stay in style for a while ... I can't predict the future but I do know I have a good chance of getting a better look by replacing what I already have. I appreciate the suggestions. I love the wood floors but I just installed 900 sq ft of solid wood in the house and I wouldn't want to mix hardwood types in my home, and what I have now isn't made for bathrooms. Did I mention I'm in a cookie cutter neighborhood, so nothing too fancy here. :) Sochi I have looked at your bathroom hundreds of times. It's my favorite! I hope you're ok with me using the pic, otherwise I can delete it. I looked up your tile but they don't show a store in MO and I'm thinking its over my budget :) a girl can dream though I need a little more help everyone, I've narrowed down the vanity countertop to two choices - both hanstone, the more speckled one is swan cotton and the other is aurora snow. My dream countertop was alway swan cotton but the more I look at it it's almost too much speckle... What are your thoughts?...See MoreFeedback on tile choices for master bath please
Comments (27)Off-topic and please forgive....but a designer - not you OP! - posting to the world a photo of a Chicago Lake Shore Drive (ergo, super-pricey) residence with a cruddy filled wastebasket front and center?? Twice - thanks to the mirror. What were they thinking?? Sure not a good advertisement for their business. To the topic at hand, I think the swirling sand effect is very different and pleasing. And the thing about a neutral or serene effect in a bath is how easy to change the look with colored linens, a few accents, etc....See Moredan1888
