My poor plum perfect has it

Yes our Plum Perfect got it also this past season...Ours was newly planted this year and small so I just pulled all the leaves off... If it continues to get DM in the future I'm removing ours....

I'm no spray so I can't recommend a spray.. Sorry

My plum Perfect also was small last winter and got DM . I sprayed it with hot water and pruned the bad leaves . This year the rose is bigger so I want to spray something to prevent DM . I do spray biweekly with either Bayer advance or Honor Guard/Mancozeb .

Downy mildew killed one rose of mine Kristine. Powdery mildew is more benign. I think the DM should have a name less similar to the PM, ideally.

Pink rose, I posted on DM a while back. Chris from the old Newflora site said that the old fungicide Daconil is effective on downey mildew. Even thou DM is not a fungus it works. I looked up what I was able to on Daconil. It was also recommended that Daconil can be mixed in with another spray type. That way you can still guard against DM while preventing resistance to other diseases. You would only need the daconil when disease pressure is high for downey as it only germinates in certain condition.

My Plum Perfects that I ordered for this year came with Downey. It was the first that I had seen this disease. When I opened the box and saw the leaves. I made a bee line for the house with the box in hand. All that I new was that what it was looked scary. A quick search on the computer and conversations with the nursery brought up DM. I'm sick about PP as it is a spectacular rose for me. But I had to eliminate roses I loved before because of rust. Sooo, maybe I'll able to shovel prune a wonderful beautiful glorious rose. Sure don't care to have to fight downey mildew every year.

I tried Daconil on my afflicted Lamarque, and it did not help. The rose did not die outright, but failed to thrive and I removed it two years after it was afflicted.

in the meantime l have been spraying the leaves with hottest tap water because heat kills the virus .lt worked last year .

Did anyone try Monterey Agri-Fos systematic Fungicide?

I had downy mildew on my Angel Face rose.....I sprayed it with a highly diluted mixture of vinegar and water.Approx 1 teaspoon of vinegar for a 16 oz spray bottle of water.I left it on for 1 hour,then rinsed off.The downy mildew hasn't come back since,and no harm was done to the rose.Its been getting new growth like crazy.

Aliette does works like a charm but it is just so expensive. I purchased it when my three Rouge Royal came down with DM 3 years ago and they were almost completely defoliated within 2 days. Shortly after this I found it early on several other roses and had to act quickly and so I broke down and bought Aliette. It has reappeared a couple of times since and so I’m glad I’ve had it on hand. I just wish there were a smaller package of it available.The label for Mancozeb states that it treats DM but in my experience I have found it doesn’t treat it but slows the spread of the disease or decline of the rose.
