Products I discovered on QVC, by Nick Chavez make a world of difference in my hair. He has 2 lines, the one I am currently using is Sexy & Sassy.

I'm not an expert in extensions, but it is my understanding extreme caution needs to be taken when removing them. I do know that there are many ways to add extensions to the hair. Some add little pieces of hair in with a tiny braid, and other glue. Still other use a cornrow at the base and add long wefts onto the cornrow. I do know that braids can make hair fall out from the root if too much tension is used when putting in the braid. You also have to be very careful when washing/conditioning and maintaining or the natural hair can start to dread and knot up...that would break the hair when trying to remove them. I was told by a gal that swore the glued in ones will not break hair if they are applied and removed correctly. I can't say if it does or not, as I have never done or had them. There is a lot of info online if anyone is interested in learning more. One of the best sources I found was a gal named Bridget in Seattle. I think it was called Scream in Seattle. She is supposedly very good and does all kinds of extension from the unusual to beautiful. I think she used a pinch braid method, however a gal in my area thinks glue is the best. My advise if for anyone getting them to really do their homework and talk with others that have had it done by the practitioner. Also, with braids many people think they are loosing "tons" of hair when they are removed when in reality it is no more than they would have naturally lost in shedding (as we all do, some more than others). A braid will hold that hair rather than shedding it so it seems like you loose a lot.

Learn to wash your hair correctly. I take out half of new shampoo and put it in another bottle. The fill them both up with water. The NEXT day wash your hair only with a bit of conditioner. Because your hair isn't dirty. Then the next day again the diluted shampoo. Like WEN shampoo that is on television all the time, he will tell you it doesn't suds up ;) Then once a week put cheap Mayo on your hair. If hair is very dry or over colored use olive oil at the end of each day for 3 days. Always put on a plastic bag to bundle it up it up then aluminum foil tightly over that to heat your hair. It doesn't matter which - olive oil (for real dry hair), coconut oil or mayo you use you should keep it on for 2 hours or over night. Whatever time you have. When you wash it out follow this rule. Put the undiluted shampoo or diluted on your hair and let it cut the grease. If you put water on first you will never get it out. Then add water. Do you feel it is still there? Then add shampoo only on the areas that you feel it. Yes , you will have clean shiny hair that has recovered. And, there is no reason to buy shampoo and hair products at the salon. I use Pantene products as my preference for years but that's just me.

i really do not think this is a medical problem. similarly i do not think that grey hair is a medical problem or wrinkles due to wear and age. even though it's not a medical problem if the person thinks it is a cosmetic problem then it is exactly that and since i dont have any good information on it, i can't tell you what i think he should do. another thing i would like to say is that i think it's ironic that people say "ooh i think bald is sexy or i dont mind what color hair". irony b/c these people often say "stop worrying about what other poeple think". both cliches bother me and i think the best way to live life is to truely not worry about what other people think unlesssss* they are someone very close to you. if you happen to be bald or thinning hair i would not and give it a second thought or even the time of day to post it on the inetnet. just my 0.02 dollars. best of luck!
