Leather sectional...what do you think of these?
Comments (1)I've no idea on maplesleather or palliser, but have sold Brad-Young now for close to fifteen years, and have several pieces myself. It will give you the service durability you seek (stay in the Finished hides, i.e., Ashton Court or Bentley Place groups), however I don't think you'll find a new B-Y Sectional anywhere in the country at $ 3K, that's below dealer wholesale. Remember that with a sectional you are actually buying the equivalent of a sofa and two loveseats, three pieces of furniture. Comments (15)Dang, I didn't come back to the thread to check and I've got the wrong piece over the piano! Anyway, I'd think it would be too small for your fp. Here it is at 36x24 over the piano. Too small but you could certainly flank it with a couple other pieces. Then I sized what I thought looked like a good size over the piano, at this room angle. As of now, without sitting on it, I do think I like the third one best, quite large, although that would depend on the fp wall as you don't want to dominate your focal. It does make a really nice vignette with your chairs, and I think it looks really pretty in your room, right on target. So, I'd get it regardless of where it ends up. The frame would be a fabulous price just in itself. I see it's still out there. The tapestry is gone, though. Hopefully you picked that one up. So, even though times have changed already! here's something to look at as food for thought. Oops! And the main reason I ps'd this was to move your chairs! lol. The one on the right, esp, needs to move out and away from the piano more. I'd also shift the fp one to the left a bit if you can. The piano needs to breathe more, and so do the chairs, I think. From the pic and plan, they would still seem close enough for conversation. I also tried to angle the fp one a little more inwards. I do love that ottoman there. Maybe angling the chair a bit would help it to not block the fp quite so much, although overlap is a good thing!...See MoreWhat do you think of this rug in my living room?
Comments (11)The rug actually works really well with my current window treatments, which are roman shades topped with a valance: I've just been longing for woven wood shades and side panels. I wish that I could buy more of the fabric that I used for the valance and trim on the romans, but I made it from some drapery panels about 6 years ago, and they have been discontinued. I like the look of these panels from West Elm: I have to say, the rug is really growing on me. I got it at the most unexpected place - Big Lots - and it was only $128, and it's 100% wool....See Moremixing dark wood with very light wood -- what do you think?
Comments (5)I agree - mixing woods gives a wonderful 'collected over time' look. I love mixing woods & it's one of the things (& there's not always a lot I love) that I love about a fair amount of furniture that I have. Right now every time I pass my boys Maple headboards propped against our cherry buffet, I think what a wonderful contrast it is. Mixed woods just look 'rich' & give such depth to a room. That said, I think that chair is wonderful & will look fabulous w/ the look that you are trying to achieve!...See Morelittlebug zone 5 Missouri
