Design Dilemma Paint Kitchens

Benjamin Moore White Dove Paint

We are planning to piant our kitchen cabinets BM White Dove. The walls in the kitchen will be Agreeable Gray. We were planning on painting the living room which is open concept BM white dove as well. Would this be too much White Dove? Also, what color should we do the trim? I was thinking of doing it in Whit Dove as well with a different gloss. But, I don't want to overdo the white dove. Any help would be appreciated?

No, you are on the right track. I would do the exact same thing and a
different gloss for the trim is a good move too.

Skip the depressing and dated gray and choose a real color. If your cabinets are in good shape, leave them alone. Wood is coming back strong. Be at the front end of a a trend instead of on the tail end.

I said on another post that i think Cloud White is highy underrated. I find it to be milky, but not creamy. More of a warmer white, not too stark, but not yellowish. They probably wiuld bith work with the colors you selected. I have cloud white with SW Contented and BM Carrington Beige and it works well with both. To my eye, white dove looks more creamy (yellow) in samples than it does in pics of people's cabinets. BM also lists them as coordinating colors. Your best bet is peobably to get large paped samples or sample pots of both to look at in the space once the floors are installed and cabinets are installed. Maybe one will jump out as the right one, but they will probably both work.

I have a small galley kitchen, unfortunately no island, just a small penninsula I guess you call it, with a couple bar stools. I’m painting over maple cabinets and have warm britanica counter with greige colored longer subway tile backsplash already in place. The backsplash matches the veining in the counter. So I figured with my darker LVP floors, the white would look best. Just want it to look pretty soft , warm white without too much yellow or being too dark against the counter. Why is finding a white so hard 😞 I actually found the perfect white on a cabinet door at Home Depot, but nobody is able to match the color correctly. i’ve called the cabinet manufacturer and Home Depot and neither can give me the formula.

We painted our semi-baement family room (windows, but not a lot) in white dove, and it's fantastic. Clean, neutral, and soft. It's been 12 years and needs to be repainted, and I will do the same color. We did eggshell on the walls, flat on the ceiling, and semi-gloss on the trim. This time around I think I will simplify a bit by doing matte (aura) on both the walls and the ceiling, and semi on the trim.

I agree. I really dislike too much gray. That is why I thought White Dove was a good choice becasue it is a warmer white. I am only doing agreeable gray on the walls in the kitchen

becasue that is the color that was alredy in the kitchen when we moved in (we had to redo kitchen becasue of leak). I am open to another color on the walls in the kitchen. The granite we will have is Bianco Romano Supreme. any suggestions for a wall color that will look good with white cabinets and this granite?
while were at it.....any ideas on a good color for the isalnd? Thanks to everyone for their help.

What did you end up choosing as a color for the island and for your backsplash?

I am currently debating painting my cabinets white dove and having a deep blue island. What is your flooring?
