Yesterday I went with my social club here to Pierre. First we went to the Pizza Ranch for lunch. Then we went to a concert at the Methodist church. It was all Christmas music. The music was played on a pipe organ, a regular organ and a piano by a professional pianist. There was also a lady playing and ringing bells. A very good singer sang some of the songs and the audience joined in on some of the songs.

After that we went to the Capitol. Every year about a 100 trees are decorated by different groups and organizations and are put on 3 floors of the Capitol building. They have some other toys and decorations too. It is just beautiful. The trees are all different colors.

It was a day well spent with friends. It also put me in the mood a little bit for Christmas.

The Cantata is next week too. If I am in town I will be going to that too.

Just went to see the Moscow Ballet perform the Nutcracker Suite. It was phenomenal from the costuming to the dancing...everything I'd want it to be.

If the weather is in our favor, we're supposed to go to a Holiday House tour...6 historic homes open up for the public to see, all decked out for the holidays. Great places to get ideas and inspiration. Benefits the Historic Society.

Usually not much, but my friend invited me to accompany her to the North Carolina Master Chorale "Joy of the Season" performance next week. It is in the beautiful concert hall downtown, should be really nice.

We have an open air venue at about that distance. It’s not too popular, but I can hear it going outside. Beyoncé will be in Columbia next Tuesday. They said some schools will have early dismissal because of the traffic. My loudest concert was Daughtry. Couldn’t hear for a couple of days after. Speaking of the venue here, there are subdivisions right next to it. I think 3 doors down will be there next week. It will be a school night.

My DW & DD have seen her 5(?) times in the last decade. Next year, when she'll be back in the Fargodome, I THINK they bought Front-row VIP Tix.......uffda......$$$$. Well......I'm going to KISS again when they're in Grand-Forks ND! Wish to hell it was the Fargodome!!!!! MUCH better atmosphere than the pretty "Spartan" Alerus-Center (UND's indoor Football stadium) in GF. I believe I'm in the FOURTH row, almost in the Middle!!!!! Saw them this past March 6th in Sioux-Falls SD. Cuz....."I Love it.....LOUD"!!! ;-) That's my fave KISS song! "God of Thunder" is #1A. :-)

When will you to to a movie or concert?

I picked up the worst case of flu I have ever had in my life once at the movies. I've never been a movie fan and hubs just got a big screen tv so we'd rather rent . . . better and cheaper snacks at home.. Concerts and theater are really going to be tough for us. But the answer is no, too much at stake. I've picked up things at concerts and theaters even before covid. My lungs are so weak, I don't want to risk the problems it will bring into my life. Our local theater is experimenting with a partnership with a local outdoor wedding venue that has a large pavilion. They are starting with a cabaret there next week. MI theaters are not allowed open yet. Hubs and I were debating. Not sure we would still feel comfortable because we live in the land of stupid and people don't care about social distancing so while I trust the venue, I don't trust the patrons. What seems likely is that there could be asymptomatic carriers among the crowd because people in my area are not taking the pandemic seriously, However, I do like the idea of outdoor venues, so we might go and see how it is for starters. We are big patrons of the theater. But no way am I going in there until the pandemic is under control. I know too much about the ventilation system in that building, both heat and air conditioning. Not the greatest under the best of circumstances. Hubs and I are probably going to continue to hunker down at home. Lots to do here. Trying to keep up socially online.

Driveway concert raised during winter

The heaving is from just general water in the ground, not necessarily only from water getting in the gap. The asphalt saturated fiber board is a required expansion joint between the driveway concrete and house slab/foundation. If you want, you can cut it down with a utility knife to 1/2" below the surface and fill it with backer and sealant as mentioned above. HomeDepot Quikrete Self-Leveling-Sealant

My best friends treated my husband and me to a Paul Anka concert for my birthday last week. We enjoyed it very much. All three of my daughters asked, "Who's Paul Anka".

Most is centered around the grand kids. So far they have been to two amusement parks, I attended the lower key one, that are set up with a holiday theme. I think they did a walk through light display at another park also.
I'm thinking of taking them to see a children's play this season also.

I'll be doing a cookie and gift exchange with one of the my Red Hat groups nest week. We are also having a mini Christmas treat potluck with the Hand and Foot group. I've been invited to house tours, teas and banquets but just don't feel like going.

We still like to drive through various neighborhoods and view Xmas displays. But I am becoming a little jaded now with all the stuff commercially available in every store for anyone to just plug in. I miss the creativity involved in a great display in the good old days. I'm also not fond of all the led lighting. Way too harsh and looks too commercial to my taste.

Wishing I could hibernate until summer. Only 199 days to the first day of summer. *sigh*
