Cromwell clearly did not support Henry 6 yrs earlier saying he couldn't afford it. (Thus the reason C is in H's dog house, yet now finds he needs his favor to get a position in Parliament again.) C makes the point that wars are not affordable things. Cromwell points out that, unlike last time, they now hold only one province it would be impossible to keep supply lines going for an army there. C is quite cheeky to the King in his replies and doesn't backdown, and instead acts as a thoughtful consultant, thereby gaining H's respect and consideration. H: Master Cromwell, your reputation is bad. You don't defend yourself? C: Your Majesty can form your own opinions. H: I can. I will. Cromwell walks back into the palace where a young man is asking if he should paint out the coat of arms of the cardinal, and C replies, "No. Paint it again. Brighter."

Renee, I look for old sheet music to frame! Found a song with the name of our street in the title, and I picked up some seasonal/holiday music that I change out during the year. So fun! Fori, As for the music "library", I bought an old sheet music cabinet from a neighbor. The condition isn't great, but a word of caution: I think they are intended to hold SHEET music, not books. The shallow drawer bottoms are not solid but slatted, and don't feel super strong. It's cool, but not as easy to use unless you are very organized and know what you keep where. I also have a small metal Bisley 5-drawer unit (from the scratch-and-dent corner at a The Container Store, it's missing the bottom drawer, which leaves an open slot for music) Each drawer has one of those little slots that hold a label, so the jazz goes in one, the video game music printouts in another, etc. and we can find them, and put things away easily. The books are in two large "boxes" beside the piano: one is a sturdy basket, the other used to be a deep kitchen drawer. One sits on the floor under a small table, the basket sits on too of the table, which is just the right size to hold them. The music stands upright and it's easy to flip through. The whole set-up is not that attractive lol! My friend and here husband are both musicians, and they installed cabinetry in the living room for the music. Shelves close together to hold loose paper flat, and shelves spaced for books and binders, as well drawers for metronomes, pens and pencils, instrument tools, etc. The shelves are also attractively labeled to suit their needs; I think it's a removable/movable label. Our piano came after we'd lived here for a couple of years, it is in a corner but it is a great spot! In this living room, only a buffet or console type piece of furniture would work, because it's where you enter the LR from the foyer, so our console piano is perfect.

ditto, glad you had a good time. Fleetwood Mac began life as a traditional blues band, with Peter Green as the lead guitarist. They did many old blues songs in their repertoire. Green wrote Black Magic Woman. He left, the band went through a metamorphosis to pop/folk by adding Buckingham and Nicks (who had their own fledgling band as a duo) and left the blues genre behind. That change was almost as dramatic as if Diana Ross and the Supremes decided to drop Motown and do California surf music like the Beach Boys instead. The story of Buckingham being dropped is murky but I remember hearing interviews with Nicks, even going back some years, saying that the good of the band as a whole was far more important than the good of any individual and that complete dedication to that was essential. And that Buckingham didn't always have that attitude. Yeah, I know, decades of baggage between those two too. They may have tired of his negative attitude. In addition to Finn, they also added a guitarist from Tom Petty's band, he too a well respected musician.

I picked up the worst case of flu I have ever had in my life once at the movies. I've never been a movie fan and hubs just got a big screen tv so we'd rather rent . . . better and cheaper snacks at home.. Concerts and theater are really going to be tough for us. But the answer is no, too much at stake. I've picked up things at concerts and theaters even before covid. My lungs are so weak, I don't want to risk the problems it will bring into my life. Our local theater is experimenting with a partnership with a local outdoor wedding venue that has a large pavilion. They are starting with a cabaret there next week. MI theaters are not allowed open yet. Hubs and I were debating. Not sure we would still feel comfortable because we live in the land of stupid and people don't care about social distancing so while I trust the venue, I don't trust the patrons. What seems likely is that there could be asymptomatic carriers among the crowd because people in my area are not taking the pandemic seriously, However, I do like the idea of outdoor venues, so we might go and see how it is for starters. We are big patrons of the theater. But no way am I going in there until the pandemic is under control. I know too much about the ventilation system in that building, both heat and air conditioning. Not the greatest under the best of circumstances. Hubs and I are probably going to continue to hunker down at home. Lots to do here. Trying to keep up socially online.
