I think I am going to make it
Comments (9)I know what I should eat, had all those lessons as a child, but all of it justs makes me gag, well, Sauerkraut might do it but I think it might not do my stomach any good, just like the spinach. My son came by and loaded up the refrigerator with about 10 different non-carbonated drinks with plenty of electrolytes. The trouble with that kind of weight loss is that it is just temporary, once the liquid is replaced, back you are to your old weight. Oh well, can't have everything....See Moreis there any hope? i think i killed my succulents
Comments (9)Thx for the info Brad. Pretty interesting, I'd read from various sources that perlite was good to use. Like I said, I went to them thinking they would be more informed about garden stuff...I guess not. I specifically asked about perlite and was told, "no way, do not use that stuff...it holds the moisture in the soil." I found that really odd because I recall my research and the bag of perlite specifically stating improves drainage and aeration. I did add it but not to the ratio you indicated. I figured this bag of cactus mix was better than the miracle grow stuff that home depot and lowes carries. Would it be a good thing or a bad thing to repot the plants and mix in more perlite into the soil?...See MoreMy new anti-vole weapon, I hope, I hope!!!
Comments (13)Teresa emailed me and asked me to post her pics. of the hawk that landed on her deck railing! She's having some problems getting Photobucket to cooperate with her, it appears!! :o) He may be *shopping* but it looks like he might be a vegetarian, instead of a vole hunter! Looks like he's eyeing her tomatoes pretty intensely,to me!!!! Good shots, Teresa---if you look closely at the second one, you can even see the glint in his eye!! I think he was messing with ya! LOL I'm not happy about hawks in my yard!! I love my chips and squirrels and my new little dog, more than those agreeably beautiful creatures of prey!!! I always chase them off, telling them to go *graze* in someone else's restaurant--not mine!!! I know--not the politically correct stance to take in a world of environmentalism gone manic!! I'm all for the balance as per the design, but I also appreciate the fact that I can manage my environment, responsibly, without making it more the priority than human beings and their quality of life and health!!! I'm only adding this to avoid any bashing from those who think some life creature forms are more privileged than others! I am all for their doing what they are designed to do, but if I can protect what I value most on my little 1/2 acre--I will with no guilt!! :o) No question about it--hawks are pretty awesome creatures--just enjoy them most in open fields! Now---if I have a plague of voles--I just might change my mind--I have that right, too, you know!!! ;o)...See MoreI think my Phet Pachara is going to have an inflo!
Comments (17)Heirloom was developed in Houston by Barbara Randolph, who says it's a seedling of Summer Spice. SS looks nothing like Heirloom, but is Hawaiian, I think. Who knows what else Barbara had in her collection that it may have crossed with; butterscotch is such a crazy color for plumies! Yes, I would love to have a small dog, as long as the dog doesn't also dig around the plants. Poor thing would be worn out chasing as many squirrels and rabbits as we have here!...See More- 6 years ago
