I went to church this morning and then took a nap. I have to do some baking for a doings on Friday. I made some 18 mini banana breads out of a cake mix. I also made a lemon bar and dipped pretzels.

Yes when I have those long dragging days it really frustrates me to no end. I like to keep busy, physically at least, if not mentally and physically.

I've gone almost exclusively to my calendar on Excel. I don't like the Google one for some reason.

I love pretzels. I should try to make some because I now have so much sensitivity to wheat and salt that I have to figure out if I can use anything. So far all I've been able to use is whole grain Rye flour.

Today was a lazy day I got up at around 7 a.m. pretty much made breakfast, emptied the dishwasher, did one load of laundry and that was it. The dogs had already been fed and walked so I went off to shopping at Home Depot. I got a two new shower heads as mine in my washroom broke and DH's is really really lousy and old. Plus I got a mat for in front of the sink that has a Snowman in a red scarf and a red hat on a blue background. It looks quite cheery if very cheesy. :-).

Tomorrow is my long day of work. I have the same clients every Monday. I start at 7:15 a.m. and finish between 10 and 11 p.m.

I've been getting my calendars lately from the Dollar Tree.

Still at work. I have 4 more hours to go. The power went off in almost the whole plant right after I got here and was off for almost 6 hours. My emergency lights cut off after an hour or so and was in complete darkness. I spent the whole time answering the phone and answering the same question over and over. No, we are not loading anything and no, I'm not sure when we will be back up. I have no idea how the phones were still working.Luckily I had a fully charged phone and kindle to get me through it. When they came back on I finished hanging the last strand of Christmas lights on the office ceiling and then went and put some lights and stuff in the raised garden beds outside. Totally outdid myself this year. It took me a full 12 hour shift plus a couple hours tonight to get everything up. My back hurts,and my feet are not speaking to me right now. But it's so worth it. A lot a people enjoy it.

I worked on Christmas cards yesterday and hope to mail some out today. I usually just get my calendars from the bank or insurance company. The Dollar Tree ones, the pages curl after a time. I seem to not have enough hours in the day. I have so many things to do and wish to do, run out of energy and time! I do not mind winter at all. I am so thankful to be able to do what I can do at my age. Have a wonderful day everyone.

What haven't I done lately? Whew. I planned my outfits for the week yesterday, because everything else is done. I did make some cookies (and ate too many of them). I put the dahlia tubers in pots with soil and put them in the basement. I hope they'll be ok. And I decided to get back on the diet wagon full force, so I made my snacks/lunches for the week. I sketched the front bed and sat to watch the sun moving to decide how much of the bed is truly shade only. I watched a painted lady butterfly on the butterfly bush after I deadheaded it. Made me smile! I rested for the remainder of the day.

In the past week: I cleaned the house from top to bottom and even cleaned the oven (not self cleaning). I painted the dining room and one wall of the hallway (the one facing the living room) before guests came so they could enjoy the new color and see what color the hall will be. I raked a million more leaves; I'm almost done. I painted a lot more of the pergola. We took the broken plastic roof off the pergola so it won't hold in moisture (mold. I've had fungal sinusitis twice in the past year, so I am thinking about these sorts of things), or leaves, and catch the wind in a way that sounds scary to the cats. "What's that noise?! Augh!!! Run around and look wary". Poor things. The boy got up on the 25 foot ladder and finished the last few dabs of paint on the body of the house. I need to paint one more set of shutters, finish the front and back porches, and the window trim, but the main body and doors are done. We replaced two of the 72 window panes; these were broken. Now, they're all ready for reglazing. That will happen the next time we have warm weather, and I scrape off the old glazing. I have two storm windows on, but need 7 more. I weeded the entire garden, and started 27 kinds of seeds. I put out several more winter sowing containers, with five more to go. I watched Inception, and stayed confused the whole movie. I get the basic premise, but not the tiny details. I made a fantastic turkey and sad sides. Everyone else liked them, but not me. I threw it all away, except the turkey. And apple pie. The boy ate that one. I did gain a couple of pounds, but no big deal since I'm dieting. I'll be back down by the end of this week. Oh, and he changed out the dining room light switch. It dims now. I think that's everything. Next week is work on the car weekend, new tires and oil change. We might also put up the porch swing now that I can access the top of the pergola.

Yesterday I went to two classes at the gym, three loads of laundry. Put some more Christmas decorations up. Somehow tweeked my knee a bit and it hurts when I make a certain move. I may have to baby it a bit this week.

Oh wow Amylou, that sounds terrifying! I hate being in total darkness and need enough light to see what's around me or I start panicking and imagining things. My husband loves absolute darkness to sleep and I just can't do it.

Chi, my bosses boss came in last night due to the outage. He said to me " I would ask if you're alright, but I know you're not afraid of the dark. Whatever's in the dark is probably afraid of YOU." Ha! He's right. I got so accustomed to it that when the lights came back on, it was a little disconcerting for a while even though the regular lights were turned off,so all that was lit up was the Christmas lights I hung,but I hung A LOT of Christmas lights. However,I did request that we get an alternate source of light for such emergencies. If any of my coworkers had been there instead of me,im not sure they would have done so well.

Didn't get to the post office in time. An old nursing school friend wound up in the hospital so I took her some flowers. Didn't stay long because she was so tired and trying to eat her dinner. Went to the Kmart that is in that town, as it was closing for good soon and everything was on clearance. I bought my Christmas cards there, some conditioner and instant coffee that I got for $6 & some change, that usually costs $10 at Wal-mart or nearly $12 at Kroger. I should have bought the other one that was left on the shelf but didn't.

Then went to meet Lauren for dinner (my breakfast since I hadn't eaten yet), had to wait for nearly a half hour as she was late getting out of work. We went to Steak n Shake. That place is dirt cheap.

I canned 16 pints of turkey, and got the broth cooked to can 19 qts of turkey soup tomorrow. Breaking in the new 16 qt canners I got a few days ago.

You all have been so busy and accomplished so much. I got tired out just reading about it. lol
