Comments (14)Well, my deer ate my lilies AND roses, shasta daisies and callirhoe. She ignored things like echinacea and liatris. Next year, I think I'm going to lay down chicken wire around my beds, as I understand they don't like walking on it, and you can mow right over it. Fencing is not an option. I find that daylilies are extremely tough. Remember the old orange "ditch lilies"? I STILL see them growing along country roads in terrible soil with no water in sight. I don't remember the yellow ones' name. It is really more of a gold double. Also have the dwarf "Stella with Black Eye" and the "Red Stella". No problems with them. They bloom first and longest. Bob Scott's Nursery west of OKC carries lots and lots of lilies. He is a hybridizer and has some very fancy lilies, most of which I can't afford. However, if you go to his website, you can find many pix and get some ideas. When you talk to people in the Hemerocallis club, they don't like Stella, either. Too common, I think. The different flower clubs have shows at Will Rogers' Park in OKC. What fun, and you can purchase some of their plants: Daylilies, Iris, Succulents, etc. Again, you have to get on Will Rogers Park website and check out when these events occur. One year I went, and they were having their Daylily and Koi show at the same time. I had a "ball" looking at all the beautiful flowers and fish! I was absolutely amazed that these people would set up these huge tanks and bring in their fanciest Koi! Some of these fish are worth many hundreds of dollars. Sorry, got off the subject a bit, but it is definitely worth the trip to attend some of these shows, not to mention, the park itself is beautiful. Of course, I lived in OKC for about 45 yrs., so this was easy for me to do. Jeanie...See MoreBathroom pics and request for help/ideas for mirrors
Comments (11)for the top one I'd do the brushed metal to match faucet. is there black in the counter top? if so you could also do black. finding one with black and the brushed metal would be super! the middle one - i'd do a wood framed one to match the vanity. everything else seems light and the vanity seems hung out all by itself! mstrbath - are you going to have a medicine cabinet? going on that you just want a mirror, I'd again go wood to match vanity. it's a light room again and you have dark below and dark up at the lights - and a light wall - the dark frame will tie them together vertically and cause the mirror to not fade into the wall. I'd take it about half way between the end of the light globe and the end of the wall. hopefully the fixture is centered on the wall....See MoreCat not well, tests all OK - any ideas?
Comments (14)One of my cats went thru something similar. She had become a picky eater, licking just the juice from the wet food, acting like she was hungry and would just sit and look at the food. All tests came back normal but the vet noticed she had some gingivitis going on, so I decided to get her teeth cleaned and see if her eating would improve. Once the dental vet examined my cat (under anesthesia) she found there were only 7 teeth in her mouth, where there should have been around 30. After a full set of mouth X-rays they diagnosed her with Tooth Resorption. The X-rays showed all but 2 of her teeth needed to be removed, along with 3 remaining roots that were infected and draining. After 3+ weeks of recovery, she is back to her normal self, eating well and gaining weight. Before spending more money on more tests I'd probably have the vet X-ray Rocket's mouth. A visual inspection won't show more than what looks like gingivitis so if your vet doesn't have the x-ray equipment for dental work, I'd find one that does. Here's a site about tooth resorption....See MoreMirrored walls ideas
