This house next door has been empty for 11 years. It goes up for Sheriffs sale today.

Mid summer pic here and next pic is about 2 weeks later after all the vegetation was cut down.

What a difference, Gazania! (sorry I always want to call you by your previous screen name. I can't remember your new one)

This is our friend's cat. He got him about 5 months ago, and he's a very shy, quiet cat. It takes him a time to get to know you. He found out how to get on top of the china cabinet the other day.

igmd, they sure cut down everything! There is more light now, but it the house looks so bare.

Nearly all that growth was catalpa and black walnut trees that sprouted up in the last 11 years, and it was all right against the foundation. No good. The house was built about 1902. That is a slate roof and the original windows. The inside is in very bad condition. DH was at the sale today just out of curiosity. A bank took over the debts on the property reported to be $70,000. I guess it goes to the highest bidder when the bank puts it up for sale now. All this goes totally over my head.

They did look to be growing too close, but sometimes the camera can fool with depth perception so I wasn't sure. I hope whoever picks up the place can bring it back without destroying too much of the original. Usually the houses that go to auction here are fixed and resold.
