How does shipping work here?
Comments (1)Yes, normally each person pays postage on the box they mail. I have had instances when one trade is considerably heavier the other compensates, but that has been rare. Any time items are sent for postage, it is arranged up front how to pay shipping. I prefer your method of prepaid label, but sometimes check, money order, or paypal is used. I'm in a cold winter area so I don't want to dig or plant at that time so I don't trade til spring. I suppose might be different for those trading greenhouse plants. I've not heard of anyone using a heat pack, but I don't trade house plants....See MoreHow does this work...son hit neighbors garage with car
Comments (109)I rarely notice vehicles of any kind backed into spaces so I paid attention while we were out running errands today. We were at Costco, Home Depot, the grocery stores, a large medical complex and went out to dinner before heading home. All total, I saw four vehicles backed into spaces and all were full size pickups, which is pretty much what I observe anytime I'm out. It makes me wonder if backing into a space is a regional practice not seen in my area or if most people tend to pull forward into a space when parking. Now, what really gets my goat is someone with a large full size pickup or SUV pulling a long trailer who takes up two+ spaces when they park due to the combined length of the vehicle/trailer. It's not the two+ spaces that bugs me; it's that they generally insist on parking near the store entrance and taking up two+ spaces with the butt end of their trailer blocking most of the lane between rows of spaces making it impossible for anyone trying to find a space to drive down the lane. These people are being rude and need to use the rarely used spaces at the edges of the parking lot so that they don't cause parking lot jams. Grrrrrrr... Edit to add that we own a full size 4x4 pickup, but always try to be polite about where and how we park. Hubby is good at backing into tight spaces, but I am a complete and dismal failure especially if any distance is involved....See MoreHow does dryer work?
Comments (6)Dryers in unheated spaces ... they don't typically involve a water supply for operation so it's not a concern except in two instances: 1 - Some newer models have a steam-generation function which does involve either a) connection to a water supply, or b) some models have a tray that is filled per-use 2 - Models that have thermostatic auto-dry, which relies on registering the proper target air temperature to trigger the timer to advance. Operation in a cold environment (colder intake air) leads to longer heating times which will skew the accuracy of the cycle setting. The clothes *are* drying (releasing moisture) for a longer time while the machine is trying to reach the target temperature but the timer won't advance until that temp is reached. Models that have true moisture-sensing auto-dry are not so much affected by environmental temperature variations....See MoreJandy Lite2-how does it work?
Comments (11)The burner tray should be removed and cleared of spider webs in both the burners and the gas orifices. To remove the gas orifices on the burner tray pipe, you'll need a 7/16" box wrench. More than likely there are spider webs inside which impede the gas flow which can create a VERY ABRUPT ignition. It's very important they are cleaned out! I've had the front doors blow off. I would remove the grate top and look inside on the exchanger and make sure it's cleared of any debris or rodent nests. A shop vac will work well. You'll need a 5/16" nut driver to remove the screws that secure the top. Just pay attention as to how its set before removing so you can put it back correctly. They can be a little tricky with the sheet metal moving around. After you're certain you have cleaned it, run the pump and check for leaks and then turn on the heater. Stand off to the side at this point and see if it lights off. Those models make 3 attempts to light and then shut down. You would have to turn off and then turn back on again to reboot it....See More- 8 years ago
