Standard vs Counter Depth refrigerator

Hey all,

Thanks in advance for the advice. Our new build is just about done and we are having a hard time deciding on a standard (SD) vs counter depth (CD) fridge. All appliances are Kitchenaid so we will be going with a french door KA fridge. I think we could definitely use the space of a SD fridge, but am not sure if it would look good or stick out too much in the space.

The SD fridge is is 25 cubic feet, 33" deep without handles, 35.5" with handles. The CD is 20 cubic feet, depth of 28" without handles, 30.5" with handles.

This is the space we are looking at (red measurements). The wall abutting the refrigerator space is 33.5". The manual says fridge needs 1" for venting behind.

What are your thoughts?

Thanks again!
