Oh help! It's time to order counters & I'm paralyzed with indecision!

I've wanted a grey/white marble kitchen for ages, and I'm having a bit of fun renovating a small home to sell. Vintage 1875, it's a 900 ft story and a half little home in a ski village in Vermont. The kitchen has white painted cabinets , done by me for the first time and they look it, lol. I just cant seem to get my whites and greys right, I've ended up with barely there blue each time so far. Sigh.

Tomorrow I place my counter top order, and all of a sudden my plan for marble laminate counters and back splash seem silly in there, and may even make my paint job look worse in comparison to spiffy new laminate with chunky edge profile and sweeping back splash.

perhaps I should forgo the laminate back splash for simple glossy washable paint, and maybe consider going for a new counter look altogether. Wood look is with painted cabinets is very popular and vintagey here, and I need to do what's best for resale, and I think that's where I keep getting stuck.

Sheesh.
