My boring kitchen needs some pop with color++
Comments (3)BEIGE! You DO need help! First, redefine your view. You don't have a boring kitchen. You have a neutral backdrop to launch your decorating project. So tell us a little about what you like, some non-decor things you're attracted to, what environment you live in (some ideas that might work well in a cabin in the mountains would look odd in a little ranch in the desert). What things do you have in the house that you LOVE? That's always a good place to start. Being tasteful can be really confining. At this point, 3 things that don't match look odd. 23 things that don't match look "eclectic"!...See MoreI need to add color to my boring living room. New build
Comments (28)A statement art piece above the fireplace would be a natural focal point. Try picking at least one color from the artwork and repeating it in details around the room. Also resist the urge to choose an art piece that lines up with mantel edges. Use a piece that is narrower or wider to ensure that the artwork is a feature and not just an extension of the fireplace....See MoreNeed help with my boring, naked bathroom
Comments (19)i like your bathroom, especially the wood and counters! I would change out the light fixtures, faucets, and paint color to something lighter with color with more modern shapes. You can match it to a new bath mat. Your cabinets are shaker style and dont match your doors, but it would be hard to change out doors without changing them through the entire house. That style of door is in every single tract home built in the last 25 years....See MoreBig boring wall that needs sprucing
Comments (5)Paint on the wall in a deep dark taupe to lower the TV contrast could work....I like you brick idea too but it will add alot of contrast and make the room look busy. Consider a round mirror or round end table or round cocktail table; the room is too full of angles and it lends harshness to the room...larger lamps that have visual weight would be a good match for the mass in the leather furniture. Art work with motion would add softness too....it can be in the shades of your room and be very dynamic. A soft cashmere type throw would be nice as would be textures pillows, although it is a challenge to get pillows to stay on leather....haha, so a throw over the back of the sofa could be a good thing too. Possibly a green plant in the room would be nice too. In all the things you plan to do try going half again bigger in accessories than what you have; with the large furniture dinky will not make it! This houzz room might inspire you....contrast wall, large art, round mirror on wall, round end tables, black accent to add contrast, lamps that contrast with room and is big. The black accent color add dimension to the room....you can do the same thing with silver, gold, bronze, brown, in your own room....it just needs to be sprinkled throughout the room to add a bit of drama....See MoreMarco
