I need help with some ideas for my new living room...
Comments (10)Maybe you aren't as creative as you would like to be, but you probably know what you like and what you don't like. So that's why you should get a bunch of magazines and on-line pictures to start seeing what speaks to you and what doesn't. We now know that you don't want orange. What other colors don't you want/what colors do you love? Do you have a Calico Corners or JoAnn's nearby? Try browsing the fabrics and figure out what and colors and patterns you like: stripes/plaids/polkadots/floral? This is where you can start, and then we can work from there....See MoreWhat colors can I add to my living room.

Comments (4)Here are some pictures from different angles! I plan on living here for hopefully the next 4 years. The sectional and the curtains belonged to the previous tenant so I'm planning on getting new ones. The wall looks black in the picture but it's actually a deep brown. As for the carpet, I'm thinking layering it with rugs until it's mostly covered. Would that work?...See MoreMy living room looks boring. Please suggest a new redesign.
Comments (6)Pinterest has some great inspirations where you can figure out your taste and then decorate along the lines. I'd would go with a lighter color theme and less furniture. Make the fire place the focal point. Can the TV go over the fire place. Also, the TV and wall decor is hung too high. You don't have to go all Crate & Barrel neutral but it would make the room appear bigger. Add colorful pillow, a throw. Art work should be unique and not mass produced. Larger scale (or 2) black and white photo art or a cool thrift finds. If you are using natural wood table etc, make sure they are not a matched set. But also the living room has to match the rest of the house, the flow. Is lighter upholstery practical because of kids/pets? Something to keep in mind if you make big changes. A bit hard to see but I see wood floors. They really warm up a house and don't need to be covered up that much. Re-consider wall color based on furniture color choice. Warm/cold/lighting situation. It can be a fun project. I'd look on Pinterest, create a virtual mood board and use the inspo here....See MoreNTERIOR™
