Finally ready to post some pics of my new garden (lots of them)
Comments (20)Thanks again, especially for the candytuft ID, they are the stars of the spiral right now but they're starting to go to seed. I have a fountain in the front yard, and although I agree it would look great I wouldn't want to deal with the hassle in that particular spot. Birds love fountains, consequently they need to be cleaned frequently and it always involves splashing a lot of water on the ground and walking around the fountain a bit. Maybe I could get a birdbath and hook it to the irrigation system, but a statue would be easier and require less maintenance. I think I'm a one fountain person, a second is not something I relish taking care of but I wouldn't dream of getting rid of the one I have. Most recently a bench has been added to the garden, I realized that the place where the path brushes the raised bed is the coolest and most comfortable spot to hang out so I mentioned it to the DH and next thing I knew we had a new bench. I love it, it's perfect for sitting and enjoying my new area....See MoreWant to post a pic from ideas I got from my new Kindle book!
Comments (3)seasidecottage .. i love your name! Its my dream house... lol Anyway, i recently added an arbor to my yard. I bought it for 150 at lowes, and am really pleased with it. But i wish i had waited to build my own,,,so i wonder, are you handy? If you need it to be cheap you could find a woodworking plan to build your own. I found the perfect swing arbor plan for myself on amazon . Im not sure what you want planted on it, or how sturdy you need it, but ive seen an arbor made out of 3 old wooden rung ladders. So charming! Perfect for annuals. When i was searching for an arbor i looked online but decided local would be best..because shipping can get crazy and its nice to see in person the quality. Good luck!! i realize this post may be of no help..lol...See MoreOkay, this is really my final posting for the season!
Comments (3)I can't wait to see the vision come alive. One thing I love about gardening is that there is always something to look forward to! Good job!...See MoreFinal garden pics of the growing season.
Comments (9)Both had spear pull in march. The smaller one recovered after 2 weeks of provide treatment. The first front is the cut one. The second never fully extended. Now there is a spear coming out but haven't seen any growth in some time. The larger Trachy did not respond to the provide. After a month I trunk cut it. It was infested and rotted after 2 months and I was forced to put it down. It was a month ago I noticed pits around the trachy. Assuming the larger one is rotting cause there is no sign of infestation....See Moresmithdale1z8pnw
