Want to post a pic from ideas I got from my new Kindle book!

I just got a Kindle for my birthday and of course the first thing I downloaded was a Kindle book on - cottage gardens, of course!!! LOL

I want to post a pic of what I did so far to my backyard. I don't know how to do that. I love the book it was so cheap like $2 bucks and I got so many ideas I would never think of on my own. In case you're interested it's called How to Create a Secret Cottage Garden in your Own Backyard.

I really want to get an arbor like the cover has but I don't want to spend too much money. Does anyone know of a cheap online arbor store?? I think that would look really pretty and add to my cottage look that I've been working on. I'm so excited to finally do this project that was long in the making!

lol Anyway, i recently added an arbor to my yard. I bought it for 150 at lowes, and am really pleased with it. But i wish i had waited to build my own,,,so i wonder, are you handy? If you need it to be cheap you could find a woodworking plan to build your own. I found the perfect swing arbor plan for myself on amazon . Im not sure what you want planted on it, or how sturdy you need it, but ive seen an arbor made out of 3 old wooden rung ladders. So charming! Perfect for annuals.
When i was searching for an arbor i looked online but decided local would be best..because shipping can get crazy and its nice to see in person the quality. Good luck!! i realize this post may be of no help..lol

Not to be a total curmudgeon, BUT... 1) It's not your fence. It belongs to your neighbor 100% because he paid for it. That means you can't paint it, grow anything on it, or attach anything to it. 2) You don't have 6 more inches. That belongs to him, too! It's where the posts for his fence are. The fence is built entirely on his property! This isn't like buying a new house and the fence is on the property line: he paid for it and put it on HIS property. The property line appears to be where the wall is. The property line didn't move! (And no, he didn't "abandon" the 6" on her side, he's using it for the fence foundation.)

You have inspired me. This is now my next project (after the bathroom is finished). I have always thought this piece was ratty looking but it served a purpose in our bedroom. The cat sleeps on top and the TV is there also. I also use it to keep my office papers. Thanks to you it will soon have a new look. I just checked it out a bit and noticed that the drawers are dovetailed but could not find a manufacture's name. Do you know who made yours?

Thank you guys, I know it's a little different but I'm glad a lot of you like it too :-))) newhomebuilder...You leave it in the fireplace all the time behind the grate. I just have mine sitting on the hearth because we haven't pulled out the grate and put it back there yet. And yes, supposedly it radiates the heat forward to make the fire heat the room better and to protect the back of the fireplace. Les, I don't really know why or how it deflects the heat forward and not to the back also, good question. Our first house was showing damage in the back by the time we moved. We were there 18 years. Bottom line was, that's all rationalization, I just think they're very cool and I wanted one. My home has been called urban country, some traditional, with touches of old fashioned and antiques thrown in. You know how it is when you get a bee in your bonnet about something and just gotta have it! Thanks for posting the link bud_wi with explanation of use.

ll, i am going to order the plan (only 6.oo!)And take a stab at it. I dont see why I cant get it done(with dh of course) , but im not too handy! I have a book with outdoor projects id love to tackle, maybe in the winter. The arbor itself looks easy , i think the swing might be tricky. But i love a good project, not to mention the savings over purchasing something someone made. hope this works...
