Help with bathroom backsplash, paint, and wall ideas (pics)
Comments (16)Lighter beige or grey would be pretty. I would do either the riverrock or the small tiles that are in the shower, for the backsplash. I too though was thinking of doing nothing for the backsplash because it does look so pretty already. As for the Weird Wall I suggest three, say 12x12, framed pics of nature. White mats with wood frame to match the mirror frame. I would do sepia colored pics of leaves or trees. You could save a bundle by going outside and taking some pics yourself, get readymade frames if you can get color to match. I like the idea of a simple plant on the vanity. Maybe a white, ceramic pot. I would cover the "dirt" in the pot with small river rocks. You can get them at the dollar or craft store pretty cheap. Or to save even more you can get some out of the yard, like pea gravel, and shine them up with spray on sealant or I think when I was a kid we used glue....See MoreBacksplash Help...small SS backsplash??? Comments (8)Thanks prill...I'm leaning towards only doing tile in area to the left of the casing...then in the window area just doing paint and the casing down to the counter. I guess I'll just have to be more dilligent with cleaning. The Reef was the first tile that spoke to me...I really thought I was going to go for a more solid blue, but reef is so much softer....it allows me to play up the color of the walls more...not that I have a lot of walls...And, I found out that my designer can get it for about 12.50/sf where I was quoted around $15/sf....See Morehelp picking backsplash 'accent' -crimson cabinet, white granite
Comments (7)Hmm. I really like the glass on the right with the granite and cabinets. It's the marble that needs to go. I agree with RMS that if you keep the marble, stick with the one shape, and the shape that goes with the accent. I don't suppose you could get that accent tile in just the light shade and use that as the field tile with the accent running through the middle could you? I just don't think the marble agrees with the granite I guess, but definitely not in two shapes. You need it to be more neutral....See MoreHelp! Will this back-splash work?
Comments (18)If your choice were only between to 2 you originally posted, I'd choose the one on the right--the cream one. From the photos it looks like it works very well with your quartzite. The gray one is "off" just enough not to look pleasing. However, as many have noted, either one is more difficult to clean than a smooth surface. What sort of cook are you--very neat or more devil-may-care? If you are very neat and do not splash much when you cook, then you may get away with the split-faced marble, but if you are a more exuberant cook, you may find it a challenge to clean. The mother of pearl is very formal and quite busy, so it's going to compete with the counter tops as well. Personally, I would use a smooth crackle tile in a tan/beige tone to work with your quartzite. Simple is always good....See MoreUser
