Help Finding a Dining table + chairs for our new kitchen

Greetings

Ok, the choices are overwhelming us and my wife and I both struggle with finding things that "work" in our space. First, the kitchen (sorry, haven't committed on a backsplash yet; long story):

from island:

I can try and take another pic when home. In above pic, to the left, is a wine-type bar with upper cabinets and a wine fridge. Same style as kitchen cabinets.

Anyway, our requirements are that it be able to seat 8+. We could handle an 8' table, max 42" wide width, but prefer 39-40".

Our contractor also builds furniture and said he could make a basic table, but the table alone will be $2-3k. Though we'd love something custom / higher end, I think we have to accept that our budget doesn't allow it.

Also, my wife wants a bench for under the window, but I've heard they're not practical / not comfortable. I could probably move her off that notion :)

We did see this table at a local outlet. Apparently, it's a previous generation pottery barn design:

Going for $2099 + tax (7.25% here). Has one of those hidden leaves.

In person it's more yellow tones than green in the photos. It feels too 'modern industrial' for our space, do you think? My wife likes it. However, she hates our current table so much i'm pretty sure she'd agree to a slab of plywood strapped to the back of a dead alpaca.

Another option: I'm pretty sure I can get a table + chairs at close to cost at some mid to lower end retailers.

Of course, the quality is varied....and the choices are broad. This is where we get lost..

Ideas on style? Anybody know an ashley/homelegance/coaster set off the top of their head?

Thanks for your time.
