I really, really don't want to hear what you think of Muslims,
Comments (8)One wonders how you ran across the link. If you really don't want to hear what I think about muslims, you shouldn't have baited the subject so, cuz I could go on for hours ;) hmmmm... What I think of islam is..... ps you asked for it :D Congrats on the philo bloom, btw :) Too bad Foxy wasn't here any more, she'd be drooling....See MoreReally want to improve my kitchen layout…
Comments (16)I was thinking of the possibility of extending the back wall of the kitchen further into the family room , or putting the kitchen in the family room. The fireplace though...I suppose you wouldn't want to lose that. Were it me, I would definitely switch the range and sink. Without the range hood, you could expand the peninsula on the family room side for seating. How do you feel about adding storage with upper cabs over peninsulas? I know that is something that isn't "in" currently, but they are useful. Glass upper cabs, or shelves over the peninsula that borders the table room might look very nice. I can't see shifting the kitchen into the space with the cathedral ceiling, it would be on the opposite side of the house from the dining room....See MoreI really want blooms! What am I doing wrong?
Comments (22)East or west exposure will net blooms for most of them EVENTUALLY. Most of mine grow on the east side, close to the window, and most of the mature ones bloom. There are some exceptions. But I will say that pubicalyx 'Pink Silver' (which I think is what you have there) is one that has always taken many years to bring to bloom for me, AND once it blooms, it's very stingy. I think a summer outside might be helpful, but I, too, am careful what I put out. Two kinds of Hoyas go out - the ones that aren't doing too hot (in hopes of the fresh air and sunshine making a difference) and those that are duplicates (as I won't risk my mother plants.) But I do have two out on my covered front porch that I keep a close eye on - pubicalyx 'Red Buttons' is one, and I must say it blooms like crazy all summer long. The leaves look less than spectacular (fairly washed out), but it does bloom... Use a bloom booster fertilizer, like Ferti-Lome. The number on it are 9-58-8. THAT gives them a real boost! Comments (34)Thanks everyone! Sunnysmom - Thanks for the hint. I think the command hook idea would be the easiest. It’s the little things that go undone, or lead to fussing by husbands that don’t notice such things. always1 stepbehind - thank you for the compliment. I love your screen name; I can relate. I feel that I am on top of something, for once. becky and dhygarden- thanks for checking back. I ended up not going bold, except for pillows. My rug has such a “presence”. I will update again when the furniture is delivered. lindsey — haha you are right. I DID post pics of some samples. But none seemed right - they were all either too dark, too fancy, washed out, etc. I didn’t get any immediate responses so I went back to the store and got different samples. The kindly staff took an inordinate interest in my project and we found some fabrics that I think I’m going to be happy with. I really enjoyed the process. I decided to replace both wing chairs. I kinda feel bad about getting rid of them but I think the whole place will seem fresher....See Moremjammjam
