marie- I have four browsers installed on my computer: Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, and Chrome. None of them interfere with one another, even when several of them are simultaneously open. I don't know why you are having some of the problems you describe, but you shouldn't be worrying about having to choose between Firefox and Internet Explorer. They are each discrete programs, just like Word or Notepad are discrete programs. Something else is going on here, or you have accidentally made some unintended changes to Internet Explorer, but it should have nothing to do with having two browsers installed.

Well - I restarted the computer - which enabled me to move the cursor over the task bar until I got a double arrow - then drag it down - and eliminate the second, lower task bar. Now I have a single task bar again - but most of my quick launch items are not there. The start menu and open windows are on the left. Time, print icon, volume icon, secunia icon (which now won't work for me - interminably keeps trying to load) and windows update icon are there. There is no left arrow As for fonts, I can't get them restored in my inbox. I tried changing the font style in firefox options - but nothing changed. Except now - just today - all the computer forum is in a new font and is bold (way too large and bold) - all other web pages are unchanged. Is that just a coincidence that the colors and fonts and boldness here have changed? I will try a system restore later - since several things seem out of whack. I did search the firefox forums - and many people reported this inbox font change since March. No real fixes - a few complicated sounding work-arounds. Doesn't sound like anyone there was happy with the suggested workarounds. Thanks. Lynn.

Ah, it just occurred to me that earlier today, because a folder I had had on my bookmarks toolbar had disappeared (and doesn't seem to have been misplaced somewhere else under another name, as happened once or twice before, my fault), I tried to restore my FF profile from Mozy. Being timid about it, though, I tried to save it to the desktop and have not put the files into my FF folder under Applications, etc. Nevertheless, it is not on the desktop, so it may have gone into my FF folder. If I delete my "profile," would that solve matters? But it would be a disaster for me if I should lose all my bookmarks.

Biwako - I went to options and changed it to default (I had had it set for colors to correlate with domain - and it used to work like that - but I thought I'll try anything). Again - it worked at first - and then the color goes away (it's odd - it's not just when I close a tab or open a new one that it's white - the same tab that was blue before - now is white - no colors now at all). I cannot imagine what add-on might conflict. It's a daunting task to figure out which one. I've been so wild about the FF add-ons - that I have a ton of them. I don't believe any of them were new (oh - except for extensions to try and capture hulu streaming videos). I'll try the safemode and see if colorful tabs works there. If it does, I'm willing to try eliminating those last couple of video capture extensions. If that doesn't work - I'm in for a big, long process of elimination. I don't have any color - or the other extensions that were identified as being incompatible with Colorful Tabs. But something else has gone awry - my all-in-one-sidebar doesn't work consistently either. I guess something I added or updated is causing a problem. I'll report back if I figure it out. Thanks. Lynn.
