"Why did I wait so long???" I wondered the same thing when I installed it. I thought I was the last hold out.

Yes it will work with AVG. I use MS Security Essentials and thing it is the best anti virus I have used. I zoom with "no squint" a FF add on. I also change my background screen from white to a soft non glare color with no squint.

There are no compatibility issues with browsers and Anti Virus software that I know of, I wouldn't worry there.

There's a few ways to increase the page / text size in Firefox, if you click on view in the menu bar at the top of the browser you have a Zoom option you might want to fool with it to get use to it. I usually just hold the Ctrl key down while tapping the (+) sign to increase size to decrease size use the (-) key.

I customize my tool bars and condense them as much as I can. When I installed FF 4 it didn't change any of my settings. My reload stayed where it was. I was expecting a big change.

Wow I love FF so far!!! I see it automatically spell checks here in the forums also, that's great I am one that needs it.

there are some wonderful add-ons for firefox that you will want to add, first is ad block plus with the easylist subscription that will block all the annoying ads you normally see. To do that click to add it to fire fox then when is says you need to restart firefox do that then go to the link for easylist and click on where it says add easylist to ad block plus you can restart firefox again to make sure it took

to change your font size and type in firefox click on Tools options that will bring up your settings box. Go through those various tabs to learn what all is there. The first page will have your homepage settings, and where you want thing to go to when you do a download. Under content you can change fonts and sizes etc the privacy tab has some settings you may want to look at and adjust, I always block 3rd party cookies.
when you need to clear your cache or cookies etc just click on Tools then clear recent history that brings up the options for exactly what you want cleared and also pay attention to the time frame option it has a drop down menu to select from.

some of the add-ons that I use almost daily
forecast fox, colt, colorful tabs, copy as html link, text link, definitely WOT to help protect from unsafe sites, xmarks to keep all my bookmarks safe and synced. Many more good ones I use from time to time too.

I like the themes, especially on Halloween, spooks and goblin in orange and black. The one I am using now is cats, the green flavor. I really like FF, it is such a simple and easy to use browser. When I installed 4, it told me which add ons I had installed that were not compatible, it remembers my settings and passwords, etc.. I think both of you will be very happy with it.

I had stayed away from Firefox for years. (even though I installed it with my first pc)

I never liked the way the scroll worked. (jerky and not very smooth)

An add on came along that changed all that which you might want to check out.
