In the browser----Click on tools then at bottom of window click options, when the options window opens at the top you will see a selection for tabs configurations can be made there.

I checked there before posting and what I was looking for wasn't there.

Like buyorsell888 reported in his follow-up I don't see those things under >tools>options>tabs. This is not the first time I have read descriptions of what is found under tools and I don't see it. I am using a version previous to the latest.

Just curious, I wonder if one need to reset to default and then start all over in some specific sequence.

That's all the options there are I guess, I am sure there is an add/on for additional Tab functions.

well that burns me, I posted a big long post with links to the add ons you need along with instructions on how to customize your firefox chrome and now it is all gone, apparently the site hiccuped.

you need tab mix plus add on to do what you want to do you likely had it on your other firefox, you should check that one if you still have it to see just what add ons you had and also how you had customized your firefox chrome, but tab mix plus will allow tabs on bottom and most of the things you want to do easily.

also in the firefox add ons area you can find add ons to open bookmarks in new tab and several other neat things.

I have mine very customized with my navigation bar merged into the top bar, eliminating the middle bar, but using the bookmark bar.

do some searching in the various add ons you can find what you need.

you do know you can simply use the middle mouse wheel and click it to open in a new tab also, which is just as easy.

customizing your firefox chrome is a good way to get it exactly how you want it and also to use less screen space which is very helpful when on a laptop or netbook.

I had typed a big long reply and then I tried the clicking the mouse wheel before I posted the reply and it closed my browser.....guess I'll have to check that setting in the mouseware.....I also thought I replied to this thread last night and it is not here today. weird.

Anyway, thank you. I had thought about checking Firefox Add Ons and didn't get there. I do have Tab Mix Plus on my desktop.

I have also merged the two bars which I believe you showed me in a screenshot last year sometime. I need to see more space on the netbook for sure.

I have never used the bookmarks toolbar so I have it unchecked.

Every time I read this forum I learn half a dozen or more new things. The good news is that I usually remember them but was lost on these two and more that I haven't mentioned.

I have never bought a computer that wasn't a local build before. Both my new desktops came with Windows on them and nothing else. 98SE on the first one and XP on the second.

The Acer netbook is full of Acer stuff and trials and whatever junk I'm not sure how to get rid of yet so I'm sure I'll have more questions. I feel like such a newb every time I read here....

Follow the directions below we can see what is running:

Click Here to download HJTInstall.exe Download the Installer on that page Version 2.02 right hand side click Installer..

Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
Doubleclick on the HJTInstall.exe icon on your desktop.
By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
Click on Install.
It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" and Paste the entire contents of the log (no attachments) into your next post.
DO NOT use the AnalyzeThis button, its findings are dangerous if misinterpreted.
DO NOT have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what HJT lists will be harmless or even required by your Operating System.

Then do this below:

Double click the hijackthis Icon on the Desktop, Scroll down to "Open the Misc Tools section" Click it at the bottom under System tools click "Open Uninstall Manager" over to the right click "Save List" Save it to your Desktop so you may find it, copy and paste it in your next reply..
