Several years ago I purchased my first ever tablet. Raven made some recommendations for me to consider and I ended up purchasing one she highly recommended. I have used and loved that tablet every single day for all this time. Boo Hoo! I accidentally knocked it off my desk and the table is a gonner. Have done everything to try to get it to work again. The screen is shattered, the board sort of popped out of the case in places, so the life of this ASUS Transformer TF300T is over. Think it was a purchase in January 2013 from Woot. Certainly been worth the money. Just so sad to see it gone.

Ah, so sorry for the accident.

We have an ASUS Transformer that we use almost exclusively for outings because it has such large screen. We love the way it can be used in tablet or notebook mode.

Yes, I have clicker trained horses, dogs and donkeys. When I went to school to be a vet tech, we had to teach a conditioned response to an animal, and I chose a cat, I have always enjoyed training animals. I house sat for five months for a friend....every night I stayed there...came home during the day....and I clicker trained her dog. It was a catahoula and I taught him four tricks in about as many days. I was really impressed with him because we have always had catahoulas....have one now too....and they can be very stubborn dogs. I taught him to touch the target, sit, lie down, and roll over. When I first got my three donkeys, I clicker trained them to back up, to keep them from crowding me when I went in their pasture to feed them. Donkeys are very food oriented and they are extremely easy to train. You can't make a donkey do anything....well, you can try, but they will resist. I offered Mama donkey and her son some peppermint treats. She took them but spit them out. Son...I think I am going to name him Willie....and if the new baby is a male, I will name him Waylon...wouldn't come close enough to take one from my hand. I should have put it in his feed bucket. Snoop loved them. He is extremely food oriented and would probably be easy to train. Poor Emory. I gave him a couple but they fell out of his mouth because he couldn't bite them. I don't believe he is as old as Snoop but his teeth are a whole lot worse. I will take some pics of them tomorrow. My phone needed charging and my digital camera went under water during the flood.

I normal play on my ipad where I have my daily stats/streak but earlythis morning while waiting for a vet appt, I played on my phone. I got the "hot topic" word in three guesses, and was surprised they would use that word (not knowing anything about NYT changing it). Then I got home and went to play the same words on my ipad to keep up my stats and was surprised when my starting word showed two green letters rather than the three yellow had on my phone. I realized then the NYT had changed the word before I played the game on my ipad. Easy word tho - got it in two guesses which was a better score than what I had for the deleted word. i saw the story later about NYT changing the word.

A delight. Notice though how tiny the LR and DR are .... I think both break the rules of thumb about minimum passageways for space planning. It is seriously small. Love the use of wallpaper in those attic rooms. Curious about the square cream/maroon tiles in the K. Is there a story there? Those particular tiles strike me as quintessentially Brit. ETA - They have so much more fun than we do, with English interiors. in fairness, look at the starting point. Not a popcorn ceiling, run of clamshell molding or a snap-in plastic muntin in sight!

Oh yeah, we love our technology and miss it when it breaks down. Hope you can get a replacement just as good.

Awe...that sucks, buuuuuuttttt....(looking for a positive here) a lot has changed in the world of tablets during the past 4-5 years, so maybe it was time for an upgrade anyways.

There are lots of choices, you have the chance to look around.

If this item is used mostly for web browsing and you don't make much use of Android apps, you may be happy with a chromebook PC. Input is with a keyboard rather than a touchscreen - a plus for some but not necessarily everyone. They're fast, light, inexpensive and easy to use.

In the tablet world, nothing beats an iPad. My wife has one and loves it. I'm not an Apple fanboy at all but iPads are high quality products. Long battery life, long product life, great cameras (for video calls) and access to more apps than you'd ever want to use. No electronic product like a tablet can be expected to survive a drop to a hard floor (unless in a shock-proof case) but iPads are durable in normal use. I have some family members whose kids use an ipad that I think is over 6 years old. It's in a protective case and has had some bumps and grinds but it still works very well.

I'm sorry it happened to you. I'd recommend a case for your next one. Mine has hit the floor more than once and survived with no ill effects.
