Dadoes - I sent you an e-mail
Comments (2)I sent a reply, but got an auto-response about spam. First thing to try, as you plan, is to kill / reset the power, see if the dead drawer recovers. I'd recommend disconnect about 30 seconds to a minute. The two drawers are fed power via a chassis "mains" board located on the floor of the cabinet (it also has the flood sensor and sends power to the four lid motors). The mains board has connectors for wiring harnesses coming from the controllers on the two drawers. I suppose it's possible the mains board could fail in a way that only one drawer goes dead ... otherwise one dead drawer indicates a bad controller board on that drawer. The usual recommendation for troubleshooting is swap the controller boards between the two drawers to see if the "deadness" follows the boards. I don't recall running across mention of it ... but I just now had an idea that swapping the upper / lower controller connector positions on the mains board (assuming the connector plugs are identical) might be a way to check if the mains board is the fault. If it is in your case, the lower drawer would go dead and the upper would work. I suppose if the upper/lower condition didn't change, then that would indicate the respective drawer board is the problem. Swapping the drawer boards requires removing the front panels and, of course, physically removing and moving the boards. Access to the mains board is by pulling out the lower drawer. If you feel up to trying either procedure, I can give you some instruction and also send a service manual (although I don't suppose you'd be able to receive it past the spam blocking)....See MoreI got this email from mycheckfree.com. What to do?
Comments (13)I found out the email is legit. I called checkfree from the # on their website and was told if anyone was on the site during the specific hours mentioned in OP then they could be sujected to a hacker. I think I was that day, but can't remember the time. Anyway, checkfee only plans to provide people with a free one year McAfee virus program (big deal). I was told many people are not aware that if they pay their bills on line, the on line places may even use checkfree to pay the bills, unbeknown to you, which is why you "think" you don't have an account with checkfree, but you do. I found this out when I ask why people who don't have an account with them are getting the email. It doesn't quite make sense why someone's bill would be paid through checkfree if they didn't ask it to be via signing up. Interesting!!!! The woman I spoke with wasn't too terribly helpful, was aware of the issue, and frankly, didn't seem to care much. I've run my anti virus programs and luckily nothing came up. I've checked and will continue to check my accounts to ensure there's no fowl play. I have, through my credit card company, a faud package, so if anything happens to my accounts, I'm covered. Besides, this and changing PWs, there's not much else anyone can do....See MoreI just sent corporate McD's an e-mail
Comments (16)Frequently. I strongly believe if we're going to complain about bad service, it's our responsibility to compliment the exceptional service as well. And I do try to remember to do that when someone I deal with is very helpful. Although sometimes, it can backfire a little. When I bought my last car, the sales person was just lovely. Couldn't have been more helpful, more efficient or more pleasant. I wrote a glowing letter about how much I appreciated how she handled the sale. Saw her a week or two later (when I was picking up my tags) and she told me--the manager called her into the office. She was really nervous, thinking she had done something wrong. And when she got there, it was because the manager wanted to share the letter with her before putting it in her file. Turned out okay, but I felt a little badly that she'd had a bad moment when she got 'that summons'....See MoreI want to email a GW member privately, how do I do that?
Comments (0)There are times when someone would like to privately email a GW member - maybe they would like that person to check out their thread or maybe they have a question specific to that person's kitchen. In any case, the ability to privately email a GW member does exist. . . Emailing Members Etiquette There is "etiquette" involved in emailing others. If you email someone privately, it's common courtesy to be willing to reveal your email address to that person - especially if you want a reply. Anonymous emails are discouraged, even if you don't expect a reply. Another point, which shouldn't have to be mentioned but does: Be polite and don't "bully". Don't email someone to tell them you don't like something they said/did/etc. Many people find it easy to criticize/blast others b/c they are, for all intents and purposes, anonymous. Let's all adhere to the mantra: "if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything". Lastly, please be aware of what we all agreed to when we signed up for GW: This form is not to be used for advertising or promotion. (This includes links to your own commercial sites in a signature) . . So, how do you email a GW member? First, be sure you have email turned on for your account: In the upper right corner of most GW pages, you will find a "Your Profile" link - select it. Scroll down to the greenish-yellowish shaded area at the bottom with all the checkboxes. Select "Members" from the dropdown box labeled "Show my email address to:" (As of September 2013, this does not appear to affect what is displayed in the "Posted by" line) Check the box next to "Allow other users to send you email from your profile page or if you wish to receive message reply notifications." Now, select the "Save Your Member Profile" button below the shaded area. You're done! You can now receive replies to your private emails. Note: If you don't want your email address showing up in general, then set the "Show my email address to" option to "Members" just before you send your private email and set it back to "None" after you've sent your private email. Next, you need to get to someone's "member page". There are several ways to do this: Option 1: Find a message the person has posted and open their page by selecting the "My Page" link next to their member's name in a message. For example: Posted by buehl (My Page) on Tue, Sep 24, 13 at 22:27 Note the "(My Page)" next to the member's name (in this case, "buehl"). Option 2: Use the URL below. Replace "" with the person's GW username: http://www.gardenweb.com/auth/nph-logincheck.cgi?action=public_profile&user= In the case of member "buehl": http://www.gardenweb.com/auth/nph-logincheck.cgi?action=public_profile&user=buehl Option 3: Use GW's "Member Pages" page. From the navigation bar along the top of most pages: Hover over the "Tools & Resources" option. A dropdown menu will appear. From the dropdown menu, select: Member pages Select the "Search for Members" link Enter the member's user name in the "Names beginning with" box Optionally, use one of the other search criteria as well Select the "Search" button In all cases, it will bring up that person's member page and, if that person is willing to allow others to email them, it will include a link that says "Send me an email". Select the "Send me an email" link. On the next page, enter: The Subject of your email - make it descriptive and informative Your message Optionally, check the box to "Send a copy of this to my email address" (This sends a copy of the email to your email address.) Select the "Submit your message" button The email will be sent....See Moremorz8 - Washington Coast
