We have two Carolina Cross watermelons we are measuring to see when they stop growing. One is 33 circumference and 30 inches long. The other is 37- 1/4 around and 28 inches long. Any idea what either might weigh? We have done pretty good with the drought and all. I did not cull any melons this year and will attempt a bigger result next year.

I just weighed a flat tablespoon of Persil Universal Megaperls at 11.74 grams. Measuring to grams gives a much more accurate measurement than ounces. That means a 3.038 kg box contains 260 Tbsp. Using these numbers you should get closer to 87 washes out of a single box. Using the $41.99 online price at Better Products Online for a 3.038 kg box, your value is closer to 48 cents per load using my calculations. Henkel bases the number of loads on a 67.5 gram dose (divide a 3,038 g box by 45 loads). At 11.74 g/Tbsp, that comes to 5.75 tablespoons per dose. Since 1 Tbsp = 14.79 ml, 5.75 Tbsp = 85 ml. So it would appear that Henkel bases the number of loads on an 85 ml "middle of the road" dose that is right in the center of its dosage chart. Cost per tablespoon is somewhere around 15 cents.

My husband works for Sam's Club, and they do not take those check/coupons. My DS is on Isomil Similac and we have found the best deals at Walmart. For some reason, the Walmart by our house offers the huge can (1lb,14oz) for 2 dollars cheaper than the walmart by my work. My DH says it is b/c the income level is lower where we live. Anyway, the formula is always $15.54 and w/ a $2 coupon, it's only $13.54. At Kmart or Fry's, the SAME can is $22.50. The difference is amazing! Andrea

Iowagirl, I bought a Canon PIXMA Pro 9000, which prints 13x19 too. (Is that what you have?) These big printers are BIG, aren't they? I could barely drag mine into the house, and it's still in its box waiting for me to reorganize my desk to make room for it. Although the printer apparently produces stunning color photos, it doesn't do that great a job with black & white. I knew this when I ordered it, but a good greyscale printer costs around $800--well out of my budget. So I'll continue to send those out to Mpix or Adoramapix. I use Photoshop Elements, but I'd like to check out the link to your gadget anyway. Thanks!
