Comments (9)Really nice room. Looks comfortable and inviting. Good choice w/new sofas. Like the fireplace as is ... but less clutter could improve the look of it. Not sure what the picture is above the piano. If it is a family photograph, reframe it and the family photo on the mantel with the same frames and put both above the piano. Really like your coffee table. One day it will be a valuable antique if you don't booger it up. So, for the coffee table, consider taking the table to a glass company and having a dark gray tinted thick glass top created for it -- no refinish for the table necessary. (Alternately, cover everything but the top and paint the top only -- perhaps black or else the same white as your cabinets.) Do the same for your current end table as you do for the coffee table. If you're going to add a second end table, since matching the existing one would likely prove difficult, consider a totally different look -- perhaps a wood 2-drawer filing cabinet? http://realsolidoak.com/office.html...See MoreNeed help decorating my Family Room
Comments (25)Nora and Home staging Redesign...thanks for your reply....what paint color you recommend if I repaint the red wall? As far as the furniture layout, it is very practical for me the way it is now even though it is not as per design rules. There are many reasons to have this set up: 1) I can easily move from the room to the kitchen or vice versa without any obstruction. 2)The room looks spacious without blocking the windows and the view outside. With the layout you suggested, when I enter the room from the kitchen I am not able to see the whole window length with curtains. 3)This way I can see all the windows and curtains except the window behind the TV. 4)The room is fully ventilated when I open the blinds on the doors and windows. I can use the sofas and enjoy the greenery outside by the deck....See MoreNeed help with family room curtains and decorating advice.
Comments (12)Solid color for window treatments . overhead lighting is only one layer of lighting for a room you will need lamps maybe evn floor lamps and we need to know the size of the room the pieces of furniture you are having upholstered and their sizes. What is the tile in the picture of the fabric. I would for sure take the light out of the fan and mke sure all the lighting is LEDs ideally in 4000K to keep the colors you choose true in all times of day. I would choose a color from the rug, you will be getting, for the window coverings most likely drapes and make sure they are at leasy 2 1/2 x the width of the rod I have no idea how much natural light you get in the space but if quite a lot you will solard shades to protect your new floors and fabrics they will provide heat and UV protection and still allow you to keep the view during the day and also provide privacy during the day. Make sure you get a darker color for the shades in 10% they give the best protection and allow the best view. Do you have the spot for the TV already then please share that ....See MoreHelp furnish and decorate family room
Comments (6)I love playing with rugs in rooms, so found some to show you ... mostly to get an idea of what you like (and don’t like) as far as designs, colors, styles, etc. I really like the warmer tones, but that’s just my own preference and you may want cooler tones. These are all from Rugs USA because they have the “See it in my room” option (if you’d like to do some of your own). eSale Rugs and West Elm have that ability, too. Keep in mind that mock-ups of course look a bit different ... these are more vivid-looking here than in real life and, in some pics, the patterns are skewed somewhat. If you go to the individual rug page, you’ll see they look better. :) _____________________________ https://www.rugsusa.com/rugsusa/rugs/rugs-usa-abstract-waterfall/Blue/200RZBD04A-P.html _____________________________________________ ____________________________________________ https://www.rugsusa.com/rugsusa/rugs/rugs-usa-vespertina/Blue/200OWMC05A-P.html ____________________________________ ___________________________________ https://www.rugsusa.com/rugsusa/rugs/oriental-weavers-049/Blue/132049S7-P.html _____________________________________ ____________________________________ https://www.rugsusa.com/rugsusa/rugs/american-rug-craftsmen-wendall/Blue/1259063350101-P.html _________________________________ ________________________________ https://www.rugsusa.com/rugsusa/rugs/rugs-usa-obscure-rosette/Ivory/200KHMC35A-P.html...See Morekcblue2
