October, 2012 Quilting/Sewing Goals
Comments (53)Wow Theresa, those are beauties! Donna, With all you had going on this month, I think you did well in getting done what you did. Sandra, You must be close to finishing the quilting on your Grandma's quilt by now. You sure get a lot done. Kate, When you get all set up, maybe I could go over and you can teach me how to FM. TG/Linda, Hope you have your wits by now (I'm sure you do) and have come up with a plan for the wedding blocks. I really don't think it will matter later on about those blocks that have writing all over them. Try to look at it as being a reminder of those people and that day for the bride and groom. It's the last day of October and tomorrow starts a new month. Not sure what all I'll get sewn today, but I've pretty much decided to put all these quilts I'm working on away and just concentrate on one or 2 (or 3) for November. Comments (27)Oh, October. I've hit it so hard this summer that I just sort of put it in fourth gear and have been coasting gently for a month. I kept track of what I have grown and canned, and the just veggie garden alone over six hundred pounds of produce. I'm laughing because although it was a good year, I have cut back on it from what I used to grow. The fruit production has been the best I've ever had and I'm thankful and have given and given away apples so they'd not be wasted. Quilting has been a few minutes/hours here and there for months. I've a quilt on the dining room table now doing the hand finish work on it as the mood strikes me. Decided when this one's done I'm going to start gathering up all the smaller pieces in my stash and just start making four inch HSTs and toss 'em in a box until I get bored with it. You KNOW how many patterns you can throw together with HSTs. There are none dancing around in my head right now and when one pops in, alls I'll have to do is put it together....See MoreFebruary, 2017 Quilting/Sewing Goals
Comments (20)Rita, my doc told me up front that he recommended at least a week off. And he told me that it will be 3-6 months of PT. Today I'm not so sure I'm ready to go back on Mon. I haven't even attempted a shower yet, and the thought of getting ready for work and driving all the way there by myself is kind of overwhelming. Yesterday was the first day I had a normal shirt on (I'd been wearing a huge papery shirt that went around the arm and sling). Today when my DH helped me put a shirt on I kind of freaked out having the sling off. I know it's a process. :) I'm just terrified of doing something wrong and undoing what was done on Monday! Comments (5)I'd like to finish this Pecking Order quilt. I'm a little over 1/3 of the quilting. I also need to go back and add some quilting to one quilt I recently made - it has minimum quilting in it because my foot pedal was on the fritz. If it sits too long it will get forgotten if I move on to something else and you all know how I hate unfinished projects. Technically it's finished but not to my expectations....See Moreritaweeda
