I was trying to decide what I'd do tomorrow, when I realized I promised I'd help marching band to get to/from a contest. That's an all day thing. So much for tomorrow. Guess I better go find my walking shoes and clean my logo shirt. It's fun, but dang, it's physically demanding. One other contest to work in late October and one other contest I'll attend to watch and take pictures. There's a game tonight, one in three weeks, and that's it. Done forever. Unless my son marries and has a child who also is marching band and I'm not decrepit.

Too bad my house still won't get finished on the outside. I wanted to get the last few dabs of paint done before it got cold. I hope I make it! Maybe the 7th.

Went to get cat food, stopped at Dollar General for dish soap (but we know how that goes, you never walk out of there with just the item you went in for), came home and took one load of laundry out of the dryer, put another in, wrangled the garden hose and dragged it out to water the garden, 50% chance of rain today - so far only a short three or four minutes sprinkle at best, now waiting for the tea kettle to whistle and to sit on the back porch with some tea. Oh - there goes the kettle!

It's my last day off of this week. Waiting for my Advil to kick in, then will bathe the dogs and get some weeding done out front. We've had three days of drizzling rain and cooler temps. A good time to weed the gardens, but arthritis in my knees is saying that it's time to rest.

Ah PK, you're a true gardener. Took me time to figure out rain+weeding=easy pulling. Only a seasoned gardener knows that. Should be obvious, but apparently it isn't.

We went to the rental to drop off more big rocks for landscaping. Since we were in the area & I had a $10 off coupon.....:0) Purchased a safari hat by Stetson, ended up paying .80cents for it!!! WOW!

It has mosquito mesh. For hiking. :0)

Tomorrow I will be going to a rummage sale to look for more books to read during the winter months. They sell hardbacks for a quarter and paperbacks for a dime. Then its off to Lowes to look for a new stove since my oven quit working. Not going to look for anything fancy, just something that works good.

Today I delivered the beef stew I made to my daughters, picked up dry cleaning and a prescription. All very mundane. Later I will make eggplant parmigiana with fresh tomatoes rather than only sauce, an little experiment. My garden is still producing millions of tomatoes.

This is the third day the tree specialists are taking down trees- 3 very big ones which were dropping branches and leaning toward the house and 2 smaller ones.

Weekend with family- Tomorrow we will see my littlest grandson (4 years old) perform in a play at the university.

Well, everything is back to where it belongs. Sure took a lot of sweeping and vacuuming to get all the dust and insulation material removed from the house and garage. But, I should need less gas for house heating this winter, as now my walls have insulation! YEAH!

I also washed all the sheets, and put them back on two of the three beds. We had a cycling warm showers guest last night. Nice fella, from Spain, that cooked for us!

I am bushed, and just sat down. Need a shower, and an afternoon off.

Been gone since I went to see the movie. Decided to drive to Lexington afterwards (at rush hour!) to a farmer's market to see if they had any good peaches left. No peaches but maybe next week. I picked up a few pears, apples and new potatoes instead. Now to make some soup. I haven't eaten since about noon. Head and neck still throbbing. Oh, and the movie was really good, predictable but good.

Kathsgrdn, sorry that you are not feeling well. I hope it's something that is easier to fix than hypertension.

Vegetable soup sounds good, even though I heard that our temps are going to be going back up into the 80's next week. Hungry for chili, but for a long time now I haven't been able to find a chili powder I really like. I made salmon patties for supper tonight but should have used the salmon for soup instead.

Spent most of day at hospital. Saw neurologist. Got different prescription to help with painful neuropathy. Took EMG. will know results next week. Went to tj maxx and bed bath and beyond. Found good sales on household items. Still can't handle pressure on feet for long periods walking or on bus. Worked at part time job. Got home. Made baked salmon and an Asian salad for dinner. Made broccoli with some tofu and ginger for tomorrow.

Busy, busy, week at work. Got home, sliced up the leftover corned beef and made Reuben sandwiches for dinner. Sliced up about 8 lbs of sirloin steak for jerky. Have that marinating now.

I made soup today as well and it was pretty darned good. Kathy, I hope you have your appointment soon. I went off one of my bp meds to try something out, with doctor's knowledge, and I started to get headaches and sinus pain as my pressure increased. Back on the regular meds, the pain went away. Have you measured your bp?
