Good afternoon!
Comments (12)I like how normal our lives are. I enjoy hearing about your shopping, families, cleaning, and adventures. Kathy, will your son be home until he enters the air force? Will your daughter be with you for awhile? I have 3 daughters and love getting togtehr with them. Not always easy with their work and mommy obligations. I try to help them. Today DH and I went to some tile stores in the area. He would have preferred not, but he had nothing else planned. Does it make me a bad wife if it makes me nervous if he sits the day away? We are shopping for tile for the kitchen backsplash and tile for remodeling the master bath at the riverhouse. DH is the installer. We brought home samples for backsplash and have some serious contenders. We found tile we liked for shower and floor in bathroom. The new bathroom is long overdue like years. We have had a difficult time finding something we both liked. Not unusual for us. DH will measure bathroom and Monday we will order the tile. Our bedroom will get a major refresh also. All has to done by summer, 2018. Wishing you all a restful night....See MoreGood afternoon!
Comments (13)Mamma Pinky, No, he can not eat anything very thin, so he says. He can not get it in his mouth, will not use a smoothy straw even for that. Won't eat any other kind of cooked cereal, won't eat mashed potatoes with lots of gravy or broth to make it smoother. He will eat puddings, sometimes with small pieces of cake soaked into it. Won't eat any Jello. Will eat candied sweet potatoes with lots of syrup and mashed well. I do put eggs, milk, butter, bananas, cheese and such at different times in his oatmeal just to vary it. I don't even know if he tastes his food. Sometimes ice cream on top of the oatmeal. He does eat applesauce and he gets 4 nutritional drinks a day. Drinks some water and that is it. This has been going on for 3 years now. He has gotten worse since the stroke, because he would not continue his speech therapy. Speech and swallowing are sort of linked together, the muscles that is. So, that is the way it is. His speech is so terrible, most of the time I can not understand him. This was his second big stroke. He can not maneuver stairs very well, so twice a day I carry his meals up to him. He only wants to eat twice a day. We live in a bi level home, my kitchen, dining room and family room are down below. Living room and bedrooms up on the upper level, which is also ground level. I am sure there are many on here that have had to deal with a stroke patient. It also affects the mind. Comments (12)Good afternoon :-) Great find Nicole. DH brings not very exciting stuff home for me like fence material and things like that. Much appreciated but not very fancy even though it is free :-) he gets it on his job sites. When they are throwing stuff away they ask him if he wants it. I'm here having pizza with my husband. well sort of. he got a business call so I'm talking to you. My view outside the window is one of a traditional Vancouver gray rainy day. You can see me often with whole over layer of wool, hat, gloves, sweater, with a down vest,. Also a thin Merino wool underlayer which you can't see of course, and wool socks. I walk dogs as part of my living so wool keeps me warm even when I'm wet. I have to go and make a call about my accounting software today yuck. Then it's time to make chicken curry dinner. Happy Thursday all :-)....See MoreGood afternoon!
Comments (4)My mil is visiting and my husband took the day off work. Us three and my two daughters went out for lunch at Jason's Deli and then to see Murder on the Orient Express. The movie was just so-so. Came home, made supper, played lots of different card games. Prepped all my veggies, boiled eggs and made my mashed potatoes ahead of time to bake tomorrow. I also made my list of times and temperatures to bake stuff tomorrow. My mil gives my kids personal items when they turn 21. My son got a Harvard rocking chair last year when we were at her house and today she gave my daughter a beautiful diamond necklace. She has some papers she wanted me and dh to look at, so now I know what my youngest dd will be getting from her when she turns 21. She has almost exactly 2 years to go, since she will be turning 19 tomorrow....See MoreMarilyn Sue McClintock
