Wall of Windows (and sliding door) update with Plantation Shutters?

We have a three panel sliding glass door flanked by double hung windows on each end and small windows over top. The previous owner utilized a giant set of vertical blinds that covers the door and both double hungs. There is also a double set of double hung windows on the side (own set of verticals) wall. Would like to put plantation shutters on the double hungs, but then what do I do with the slider? Basically replacing the blue verticals. Would plantation shutters on the slider be too much? Windows treatments over shutters?

You can definitely do shutters on the windows and the slider without it being overwhelming. The bypass track works well on sliding doors. If you wanted to cover the upper windows, shutters are also available in specialty shapes.

Thanks Jane. The doors are really tall and wide, wider and taller than standard sizes but I'm sure that the size of french doors can be customized. I'm not sure if they would look too large though - especially compared to my front door???? I could probably do something like this though - with windows on the side...now I have something to think about! :) Or maybe I'll just save us money by getting new curtains! My husband's going to kill me! LOL I always have so many ideas that usually turn into us spending more money than planned!

Add decent draw sheers to the slider, and leave the rest AS IS. No need to add to the plantatio shutters, especially at the baby stage of young life. Unless you want to remove all, skip curtains entirely and do roller screen shades, or Silhouette shades. The living space and furniture ? No to curtains.

I hate plantation shutters so on that I have no idea but I would need to see the actual plan for windows and it would make sense to me to have the shutters and the trim the same color.What are you planning for the large sliding doors ? I always want to know the reason for shutters inside .

THANKS...I like the bypass track but it will get beat-up and create a trip hazard. also like the natural wood as opposed to basic white, but this is beach house.

For the Hunter Douglas Bypass Shutters you don't have to have a floor frame. It's an option and most of the one's we install do not have it because of the trip hazard and most people don't want to put screws through their floors. I would highly recommend them if your doing shutters on the other windows. It will all co-ordinate nicely.
