My toaster oven definitely gets too hot for the cabinets and no I don't think you should put an appliance that heats up like that inside a cabinet. I prefer the toaster oven next to the coffee pot as we always use both in the morning and only sometimes later in the day. Do you drink coffee or tea- will either or both the coffee pot and the teapot be something that is going to be kept on your counters at all times too? How low to the ground are the bay windows? Maybe those things can go on their own small bit of counter at the windows? My next favorite place for the toaster is as Mama Goose has it-next to the stove because I find that I use it when I'm cooking other things - like making toast for breakfast. If I wasn't putting a coffee bar at the window, I would really want a bench or chair in that bay window...what is the side of the fridge by the pullout door going to look like- is the side going to be visible or is there going to be some kind of thin end piece? I ask because it doesn't look like there is enough space for a light switch on that wall on either side of the doorway. I prefer to have the switches right by the doorway as you walk into the room (that may even be required by code). I agree with Mama Goose about moving that dishwasher to the other side of the sink I think you will like that work flow much better.

Your plan is very difficult to read, so I'm not sure I have this right. Following are three plans, all with an island/table combo. The first one keeps the clean-up sink under the larger window, with a prep sink on the island. The island is drawn 33" deep--you could have a deep drawer base for dishes, or have shallow shelves on the back of the island, for extra pantry storage. The floor vent is routed under the cabinet, and out the side. (Click to enlarge.) The second plan has the clean-up zone on the island, and a prep sink on the long run, where you would prep with a view of the back yard. The last plan puts the fridge on the short wall, and the range on the long wall, with the original window intact. There isn't much prep space on the island (unless you use part of the table for prep)--you'd need to step across the aisle after washing produce at the sink, but there is a nice counter beside the range, with the back yard view. You could use a MW drawer beside the range, and have a corner prep sink, with access to plumbing via the powder room (if possible). ETA one more, with the corner prep sink, and an alternate table:

Cpartist, yes, the fridge landing would have to be the island, maybe not ideal, but I think I prefer that over doing a counter on the fridge wall. I'm going to do 54" between the island and cooktop, we have this same spacing on our current island and it's comfortable. But, I LOVE the idea of the pocket door in the pantry. Didn't think of that, and it's a great idea. Thanks! Caligirl, my asthetic objection is that the fridge wall is maybe a little over 11'. By the time I put 6' of refrigeration and freezer, and the oven cabinet and spacers, there will only be 2' or so left and to put a countertop in there with those masses surrounding it makes it seem like a cave to me, even with good lighting. I think I'd rather just use the island across, but I do appreciate your advice and will keep it in mind. Palimpsest, Where would you put the glasses? LOL on the matched bottles in the fridge. We do have a glass door fridge now, and it actually looks good even when the stuff inside is disorganized (as it always is, I'm not that OCD)

What an interesting project! It looks as if it was a kitchen laid out for the help, or caters, in a well-to-do household. I'm not a designer, but I love old house renovations, and I hope you keep us updated along the way. I like a prep sink on the island and clean-up on the perimeter--but in this case your island view is of pantry and pantry doors. We spend more time prepping items for a meal, than in clean-up, so I moved the main sink to the island, as you suggested. I drew the prep sink in front of the thin strip of wall--since most of prep work happens on one side or the other of a sink, you have the choice to prep in front of the windows, or on the peninsula, facing the sunroom. Given a choice, I wouldn't put the fridge so far from the range, but in an old house remodel, sometimes we don't have as many options. I did include a MW drawer on the corner of the peninsula near the fridge, for convenience. The island width is reduced by 12"--6" for each short aisle. I'd like to see a wider work aisle, but it looks as is the traffic aisle is already at the NKBA recommended minimum of 44". 42" is a one-person work aisle, and 48" is considered wide enough for two people. But, with the DW to the right of the sink, the works zones can be separated--except for the zone-crossing between appliances. If you don't want a corner susan, the corner can be voided in favor of wider drawers, but you'll need filler in the corner to make sure the drawers clear the oven handle and hardware on perpendicular cabinets. As for the deep pantry closet, maybe just 18" deep shelves for items too big for kitchen drawers. If it hasn't already been decided, I'd suggest drawers for all base cabinets. The bases on each side of the range are narrow, so pull-outs might work better there. Good luck!
