Second Time Bride
Comments (18)I think pants is a very chic thing to wear. I would recommend wearing a nice white pants suit - it keeps it still "bridal". I have seen many white tuxedo style suits for women - I have even seen photos of famous brides who wore white suits when they got married. Most designers make a white suit. When are you getting married? Fashion is released about one season ahead, so many places are starting to get in their fall items now. You may want to go to a discount store that sells last season's items. Places where I have seen white suits: Nordstrom, Saks, Bloomingdales, Macys, Neiman Marcus, Ann Taylor, etc. If you wanted to go all out I know that Armani and a lot of the high-end designer labels make white suits. A satin is most formal or a fabric that is most like a tux - a wool or wool/silk blend. They even have suits with some bead work. I've noticed to keep it really dressy and formal the brides keep the suit real elegant by not wearing anything heavy under the jacket (the famous brides wear nothing under the jacket) like a light cami. Wear minimal jewelry (like a nice pair of earrings and ring only)), some strappy evening sandals, carry a small elegant nosegay, and wear your hair in a modern style. I think this is a great look for a day or evening wedding - but it is a bit more formal. You could make it more casual by wearing a white suit in a different fabric - like linen....See MoreIs it okay to wear pants/capris to a wedding?
Comments (24)I attended a wedding last weekend. It was beautiful. The ceremony and dinner were both held in the same room in a lodge at a State park. The bride wore a long ivory gown, complete with train and veil; the groom and best man wore beautiful suits with silk shirts and ties. The matron-of-honor was in a short satin halter dress, and the 12-year-old bridesmaid/ringbear was in a long gown. No other attendants. I saw female guests who were wearing...long evening dresses (the mothers), short cocktail dresses, cotton sun dresses, skirt and blouse combos, capri's and blouse combos, dressy pant suits, casual pant suits, heels, sandals, cowboy boots, flip flops, and clogs. Most of the men were in dress slacks or khakis and short-sleeved shirts; a few wore suits; a few wore jeans; some wore shorts. The bride's brother escorted her grandmother into the room. He also greeted all the guests coming in. He was wearing a silky bright print shirt, cargo shorts, heavy sandals, tattoos, a pony-tail, gold hoop earrings, and the happiest smile in the place. I wore a gauzy, hippy-style, poncho-type blouse attached/layered over a cotton knit camisole type shirt. The gauzy layer has a turquoise, green, cream, and purple pattern with thin gold threads running through them. My slacks were light-weight casual pants. I wore heeled sandals and gold dangle earrings and carried a small beige handbag. I think I was a tad "overdressed."...See MoreWedding Pants Suit
Comments (23)Katlan, Boscov's is my favorite store. Got the dress I wore to my granddaughter's wedding at Boscov's. It'd been $120 and I got it for around $80. It was cute, fit and the price was right. Can't beat Boscov's. Plus I'm out of state so there's no sales tax. P.S. They have great sales on their kitchen items, too! Do check out Boscov's, declansmom!...See MoreNeed dress for outdoor wedding.
Comments (33)Working on at least reducing the size of my purse. I tried putting only 1 check from each check book in my purse and that didn't work out too well because I used one and forgot to replace it and then had to use the other from a different account (which I didn't want to do). So its still a work in progress. Going out Friday night and am going to try being purseless. I think the key to purseless may be keeping a bag of stuff in my car. This was brought up on the other thread but I really need to do it. The dress is a Ralph Lauren, about $90 at Macys. It was so comfortable and you could crunch up the fabric and it did not wrinkle. And its machine washable! Also, not see through as so many dress are now....See MoreIowacommute
