Anyone have an Aquatic whirlpool/air jet tub?
Comments (8)Ginny, I have recently invested in an Aquatic Airjet Serenity 2, but it is not yet installed. The most that I can personally tell you is that my contractor guys sat it out on the patio to test it for leaks, and we all stood around smiling watching the 'effervescent bubbles' fizz. It passed the leak test and "it works!" test with flying colors. I took pictures ... it was a milestone in my remodel... something worked! Just kidding. :) I will tell you what the friend who recommended Aquatic to me said however. She loves it. Said the bubbles sensation from an Airjet are amazing, very relaxing. I have heard that the blower on an Aquatic is fairly quiet; that the water bubbling makes a greater sound than the blower. Also the '600 Watt Air Heating System' that comes with the product insures that you feel only WARM air entering the tub. Someone who has another product posted that the air entering her tub was cold and she would have preferred not feeling that sensation. However, important to me was not having to be concerned about bacteria from water circulating through the tubes that sometimes occurs with a hydro jetted tub. Although there are cleansing tablets that you can use to clean a jetted tub, I did not want to have to remember to do that. Airjets only use a blower to blow air into the tub, causing the "champagne bubbles" and then after use, a blower comes on to 'dry out' the system. In your case, you would like a hydro-massage, as well. I have heard only good reports about Aquatic, which is why I puchased, and the Infinity Series offers both. I don't think the cleansing issue is a big deal for conscientious people, I just don't want to be conscientious anymore. :) In another month, I hope to be able to give you a personal recommendation. In the meantime, Ted at the link below (Olde Tyme Hardware) is very knowlegeable about Aquatic and other brands. He has very good pricing, as well. Best of Luck....See MoreDoes anyone NOT have a dishwasher?
Comments (52)This dishwasher is only 2 years old. My husband has checked everything out and nothing is clogged or otherwise not "working". I've run dishwasher cleaner through it, quarts of white vinegar and tried about every dishwasher detergent that's out there. Sometimes I will get a nice clean load. Then I will load it up again and run it (with all the backlogged dishes that sat around trying to get the dishwasher to clean the previous ones), and that next load will be grungy. We have plenty of hot water. I'm really sick and tired of it. I've started to hand wash again and am finding that if I develop a routine that it doesn't take long. My dishes are spotless when I wash them myself. When I think back over all the years of having dishwashers, it seems they work well for a while and then start leaving things less clean than I like. Service calls never revealed a problem. So then I would be disgusted and buy a new one. Clean dishes agian for a while. Then the same old story. I am convinced that dishwashers as a whole aren't all that great.Particularly the newer ones. I have a friend who thinks they are disgusting and won't buy one. I do a lot of cooking from scratch so we go through many dishes during the day. I don't particularly like washing dishes. However, I'm feeling that purchasing another dishwasher is a waste of money better spent somewhere else. I don't worry about gernms. Most are very fragile and don't live long outside of a host. If the dishes are totally free of any organic matter, the germs, flu or otherwise, aren't able to survive on the dishes provided they are a non porous material. I do worry about restaurants and their dishes, food, handlers though....See MoreDoes anyone regret white subway tiles for shower?
Comments (41)leavemeout: If you are dissatisfied with the color of your grout, you can either make it white again or change the color by using Grout Colorant. You can either recolor the grout white or even change to gray if you want. The colorant (I used Aquamix) is epoxy based and has a sealer in it and in my opinion it was very easy to apply. You put it on with a toothbrush or paint brush and then wipe off the areas where it smears on the tile. I used it on my kitchen floor and it really made a huge difference....See Moreneed help with solid surface shower, corian or ??? cost? experience?
Comments (7)We are just in the process of using Caesarstone quartz for our tub surround and wainscot height behind toilet. There have been several threads on here recently about this topic. Most of the main quartz companies carry some in a 10 to 13mm (approximately 1/2 inch) thickness, which is what we got. They were supposed to do the templates today and didn't get here, or I would know more of how they feel of getting all the holes in one piece where the shower and taps are and 2 niches and a grab bar. I hope we don't get a rude surprise and they say they can't do it as the 2 slabs were brought in for us. Price was around $6,000 Canadian. I'm not positive, because we are also getting a piece of granite for the counter, and I have mis\-located my receipt in all the building stuff for the moment. Some companies like Cambria charged more for the thin stuff, saying it was special order. Caesarstone was $500 discount for a slab because it was thinner. I think Silestone also had thin slabs. Most of the slabs are about 10 ft. long by 5.5 ft. wide so work well size wise....See MoreBushwhacker Blood
