I don't see any reason to spend an extra $400 unless you have a really compelling reason to prefer the Blanco. The one reason I can see is what you said about the IKEA domsjo being divided. Their single bowl is only 25" and their double bowl is two bowls of 18.5" each. So if you honestly use huge things like cookie sheets a lot, like Amber, or other over-sized items, then you might be unhappy with an IKEA. For me, the 25" single bowl Domsjo will meet 97% of my needs, and that's close enough. I can use the $400 difference elsewhere in my kitchen. So I think you should think about what you cook/bake on a regular basis, and make your decision based on that. Hope this helps! :-)

Most sink cabinets consist of a top panel with two doors. I think you need to be careful about the size of the top panel. So long as you have enough of the top panel you can cut down into it and it should be a non-issue just like Kalapointer said.

@Shelly Mac - I figured that you probably just were busy with “life” when you returned home - I didn’t want to bother you again re: measuring the space. I actually haven’t figured that part out yet! I do have the Godmorgon vanity in a box in my garage. I figured that I’d order two different sinks - and keep my fingers crossed that one of them worked! If you still have the measurement - I’d love if you’d post it. If not, I’ll figure it out eventually. After all, your linked directions had been more help than I would have expected to find! I think that I’m “over thinking” this whole process! My contractor is great - and I’m sure that he will know how to support the countertop. I just have a difficult time giving up “control“ in general. To be honest, I think he’s probably a bit “frustrated“ because of my micromanaging! He hasn‘t said anything (or acted as if he is) - but I think he’s used to receiving information regarding the general desired look - and then having quite a bit of flexibility with the design. In fact, that’s part of the reason my friend recommended him - she basically gave him a inspiration photo - and let him run with renovating her bathroom. It turned out very nice. But that’s not me - especially not after spending quite a bit of time reading through posts on Houzz! There are times I kinda wish I hadn‘t found Houzz - I never would have had to spend so much time selecting white ceiling/trim paint! FYI - looking at the photo of your master bathroom vanity, makes me wish I would have combined a few of the Godmorgon vanities to use in my master bathroom. I REALLY like the look of the the thicker countertop because of the mitered edge. It really makes a lot of sense to take the $$ saved by using the Godmorgon cabinets + custom doors vs. an entire custom made floating vanity - and use it towards a really nice looking (thick) countertop!

Realistically, that’s probably not going to happen. You can go for a slight positive or negative reveal, but a perfect reveal is going to be pretty hard to get. Add in that a Fireclay sink isn’t exactly going to be perfect, either, and you’re chances of it are going down even more. If she’s adamant about not wanting any sort of ledge or area where dirt can get trapped, a solid surface counter with integrated sink is probably the only way to achieve it. Signed: someone who has installed IKEA cabinets and farmhouse sinks in two different kitchens, with quartz counters. ETA: Not that a zero reveal is impossible, but you’re going to be paying a pretty penny to find a fabricator who is willing to do it, and do it right. And that doesn’t exactly line up with IKEA-priced cabinets.
