How to plumb for single sink in center: Ikea 4-drawer Godmorgon vanity
Comments (5)This is not designed to be shoved against a wall. It is designed to have at least 4" of open space against a wall. The vanity is oversized for your location, and it will require opening up the wall to relocate plumbing. Which will be much more expensive than using a standard vanity that dies not require plumbing relocation....See MoreIkea Godmorgon Medicine Cabinet & Vanity
Comments (0)Against all recommendations I am ordering the Godmorgon/Odensvik vanity/sink combo (using a Vigo Noma Faucet). Their Rinnen plumbing parts are not code here so I will need to find a way to sub the parts & make it work. Regarding the Medicine Cabinet, I finally went into a store to look at everything in person & while I loved the vanity/sink, I was disappointed in Godmorgon Mirror Cabinet. The outside doors are glass but all interior parts are mirrored foil. When I tapped on the back, it felt extremely thin & none of the doors were aligned & straight, perhaps due to poor installation. I currently have a Robern Cabinet. I have already replaced the [3] doors once due to de-silvering & now need to do it again. Have to say for the price, I am not pleased but it is all glass & solid. The cost of replacing 3 Robern Doors & hinges exceeds the Ikea Cabinet. Ikea's is also a tad deeper 5 1/2 vs 4 5/8". There are many beautiful pictures of bathrooms here with this cabinet & would love some feedback on the performance of the foil parts, do the doors align, etc. thanks!...See MoreExpanding Ikea Godmorgon vanity
Comments (0)We're starting master bath remodel, and started looking into vanities. We will need 2 single sink vanities that will be located across each other. The design is modern, and I like the style of Godmorgon vanities assuming we will use quartz countertop with built-in sink and custom fronts (I don't like any fronts Ikea offers). In addition to vanities we will also be adding tall cabinet (or 2), possibly Godmorgon one (15x11x75). There is one thing that I don't like about vanities (and tall cabinet), and is that is the depth (18.5") is a little too small. We've entertained the idea of using Section cabinets (24" deep), but I would very much prefer having 22" standard width of the vanity. So the question is, if it's possible to extend the depth of the vanity by building plywood frame of e.g. 4" and attaching to the back of vanity? If we are getting custom drawer fronts and side panels that should cover everything, isn't? Plus having the actual vanity drawers 4" from the wall might help with piping so even if we need to cut a drawer to fit a pipe we won't need to cut that much. As for wall cabinet, 11 3/4" is not deep enough. Any idea of how to make it more deep? Join 2 wall cabinets back to back somehow? Or buy Sektion tall cabinet and cut 2" to make it flash with vanity? I appreciate any suggestions....See MoreQuestion about using Ikea Godmorgon vanities with wall mounted faucets
Comments (6)I have heard that people struggle with getting the plumbing right when they use non-ikea sinks due to the depth of the drawers. Was curious if leaving the hole behind the sink was the path of least resistance, or if they really are using different counters and sinks altogether....See Morewritersblock (9b/10a)
