The reason I grow 'Mme. Lambard'
Comments (13)Dingo2001 - Z5 Chicagoland(5) Dammit Jeri! What do you have for cold zoners lol! *** LOL Dingo . . . ALL of the wonderful things I can't grow here! ;-) All of the Gallicas, Damasks, and Centifolias . . . The Ramblers . . . All of the wonderful roses that need at least a bit of actual winter chill, to make wonderful springs. The first roses I tried to grow ... before I learned the hard way that I had to learn to love warm-climate roses....See More'Mme. Lambard' -- Int. 1878 . . . Still making people smile.

Comments (7)Jeri, my ML and GT came together from ARE in 2016. I have debated but now think they are identical. I saw the Cass remarks and photos on HMF. I replicated her experiment with one bloom from each bush. This led me to believe they were identical and ML. GT was supposed to be more cream and pink at the petal base, and ML more yellow. Mine below. The blooms selected were small ones since I was going to pull them apart. The right and left side of the plate showed both rose's petal base and they were the same....See More'Mme. Lambard' (Tea, Lacharme (France, 1878).
Comments (5)What a beauty! I especially love that waterlily-like full blown bloom in the first pic. IIRC, she can be very variable in colour/appearance, or am I thinking of another of the Madames...? Thank you for sharing her with us Jeri. I swear your photographic skills continue to get better and better; I appreciate the careful/artistic composition... :-)...See Morecatspa_zone9sunset14
